Try walking down the street and calling someone a wop, then try walking down the street and physically assaulting three people. Which is worse?
Attacking someone for no reason.
Joey "the saint" Barton

if it was not such a well known troublemaking player can't imagine it would have been 12 games.
But if Rooney had done this would it have been 12? Not a prayer. The FA would have found a way to appeal their own ban
It doesn't defend what he's done and 12 matches seems more than fair to me but tbh compared to penalties dished out in the past by the FA he's got a claim of being hard done by!
8 Match ban
Pushing the ref over (after a red card) 11 match ban!
They've thrown the book at him because he's Joey Barton lets be honest, if it was not such a well known troublemaking player can't imagine it would have been 12 games.
They've just classed the elbow, kick and head butt as three separate red card offences though. A red card usually earns a 3 game ban with additional reds receiving an additional game ban so 4 + 5 + 6. He got off lightly.
I don't see the relevance of this.![]()
Racial abuse - 8 games
Losing your temper and attempting to start a little fight - 12 games
Have to love the FA. Well, you don't actually, at all. Worrying.
Emile Heskey has apparently gone on a shooting spree in Birmingham after being released by Aston Villa. Police report no one was hit.
yes, name calling is 66% as bad as 3 assaults, ridiculous
It's not 'just' name calling though is it? It's racism. Way to downplay it.
.
and no different to calling someone bald, short, big ears etc etc

Really? Really? Wow.
You heard it here first; racism, just the same as calling someone short or bald.
