I want to see Rotty go up to a black man, call him a '******' and explain it's ok because he meant it in a nice way.
Did Rotty say that or have you just made that up?

he made it up
and no different to calling someone bald, short, big ears etc etc
it's the intent that matters not the words
How so?
You said that calling someone a 'racist' name is 'just' the same as calling them bald.
Look;
So why would you not call someone a racist name then Rotty? If it's 'just' the same as calling them bald or short?
Trying to remain impartial here, but it does appear that Rotty has hopefully unintentionally suggested that calling someone "a short arse" is the same as calling someone "an n word".
Or is that wrong?

I didn't make any accusations at anybody besides dirtydog, and lets be fair, he deserves all the criticism he gets!

true and I didn't say you made it against a person, you made it against the attitude of the forum in general

you are just starting conflict for the sake of it
No, he's saying that the intent is the important thing  (I think).
If you go into a Chinese restaurant and start abusing them, saying, 'GO HOME YOU DAMN CHINKS'... that's racist. However, people can use the word in a completely innocent way, too... like how people say they're going to order a chinkyo).
Or, I had a friend who worked with someone who was apparently called 'Chinky Dave'(everyone there was completely cool with it, apparently/they were all genuine friends).
.
you have taken the 2 extremes there, if someone is black they are black, if they are not tall they are short
I said it was diwn to intent and the n word is harldy ever used with good intent
understand ? unfortuntely we have the problem of OMG that's racist rearing it's head again
No I'm not.
You've condoned racism by saying it's just the same as calling people 'bald, short', you've downplayed the issue. If there is nothing wrong with the words Rotty, what's to stop you using them? That's an honest question. You've said that they're the same as calling someone 'bald or short'.
I'm really stuck for words. I don't really think you can make excuses for racists. I find it offensive.
Also, why have you gone on a post removal spree, removing my posts but not the post that you quoted me in?
NB. I don't say I'm going for a chinky, use the word ****, or anything like that... I'm just saying that people can use words like chink/****/etc, without intending to cause harm/be offensive - is that racist? I'd say no. Ignorant, perhaps... but not racist. They are often used in a racist way, but that doesn't mean anyone that says the words is a racist.
Edit :: I'm certain I've engaged in threads like this before, where it was okay to post actual words (because it's discussing the words, so including them is kinda important). If that's now not allowed, I can edit, obviously.
no problem, I will pass your concerns to the moderating team and let them decide on whether I was out of order or am condoning racism as you suggest
re the removeal, it was because you quoted something else
