Villa Park is the stadium being used if a 3rd place playoff is needed. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with the FA and wanting people to travel hundreds of miles to see their team play? Surely Upton Park/White Hart Lane would be suitable grounds for the playoff and don't require a >200 mile round trip to Birmingham.

What we know-

  • Brighton are claiming a serious breach of his contract.
  • Tarrico and Charlie Oatway(club legend and in his testimonial year btw) have also been suspended
  • Gus refused to handle the retaining list, as he said he couldn't guarantee being here next year.
  • Gus is always demanding more money, which simply isn't going to come!...Tony Bloom will not risk the future of the club.
  • Nobody was happy with his comments on Monday night(though the club has said that is not the reason for the suspension)

As brilliant as he has been for the club, getting 4th is an incredible achievement for us as you say, I will not be particularly sad to see him go. I love him, but he just moans all of the time....If we lose, he arranges a press conference to moan about the budget. If we win, he arranges on to talk about how he wants to move to a bigger club...and questioning Tony Bloom's ambition is a complete joke:mad:...Tony Bloom is BAHA, and Gus will not find a single Brighton fan who is sympathetic to him, or who will take his side over Tony's!

PS. IT is also widely thought that the player knew Gus was on his way and all this before Monday...if true, that is appalling!

Crazy stuff. It's probably a good idea for TB/club not to release official details until the whole thing has run it's course. Very surprised about Oatway though. He had a couple of seasons with us when I was younger, and he seems very much Brighton through and through - doesn't he have a kid in the academy?

It's not easy, I mean we all know Gus is a nob, but he took a team playing at Withdean(worst stadium in football history), bottom of League One, and in 3 seasons took us to within touching distance of the Premiership, playing exciting football. He has always been more interested in advancing his own career than helping the club, and that has always left many fans feeling a bit at odds, but what he has done here means something....when you think where we were 5-10-15 years ago, it is incredible.

He is leaving under a cloud, but we will all have fond memories of him, as he had us playing probably our best football ever, and oversaw a very exciting time for the club...I mean, it didn't work out particularly great, but if you had told me 5 years ago, when we were in the League one relegation zone, that we would have Vicente playing for us, I would think you were mad!

We can have faith in Tony Bloom though...you will not see one of the 'old faces' in charge of Brighton next season(by which I mean McLeish, Hughes etc). The club is very well run, and they don't come any more shrewd than TB;)

A side note- Wolves have just released some pretty damn fine players for Championship level!(Stephen Hunt, Ebanks-Blake for example)....pity we now have no one to snap one or two of them up:mad:

Yeah, his kid is with us. It is Charlie Oatway being suspended that has a lot of people scratching their heads over this(Brighton fans)...I think it gives weight to the rumour that they have been tapped up by another club..I mean, all 3 of them with 'multiple breaches of contract'.

Relegation next season fella ;)

We've endured worse:p

...expectations will have to be adjusted though, but I am pretty confident that we will have a replacement already lined up.

Darren Ferguson is favourite atm, but I can't see past RDM myself. He has been to see us quite a few times this season, being a mate of Gus, it just depends on whether the recent events might mean Gus puts him off....I don't think they wll.

Should just have it at Wembley if possible, last thing i want to see is Arsenal playing for 3rd at WHL:p:D

Congratulations to Gareth Bale who has been named Barclays Player of the Season.

It's another individual honour for the flying Welshman, who has enjoyed a magnificent 2012-13 campaign.

He recently became on the second player to win all three major awards - the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Young Player and Player of the Year and the Football Writers' Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year.

Gareth has 25 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions, including 20 goals in 32 matches in the Premier League.

nice one mr bale.

In the Argus today, Vicente calls Gus 'The worst person I have ever come across in football':o

Gonna be an interesting summer....

And now it looks like 'poogate' is gonna break today:o

I remember when every year we won the league Real would do likewise, Barca ended that little tradition though

I did wonder with the Spurs fans talking about Arsenal's lack of silverware since 2005 if I'd missed something and Spurs had been winning some stuff also but all I can see is a Carling Cup win 5 years ago

Even Wigan are in a better place to gloat than Spurs based on that, at least they won the proper cup :p
