Was the clubs end of season awards tonight;

Goal of the Season: RVP v Villa
Fans Player of the Season: RVP
Players Player of the Season: Carrick

Personally I voted RVP v Fulham as GOTS and Carrick as my POTY

EDIT: And no idea of this stat is correct but if it is then :D

Since Arsene Wenger last won a trophy at Arsenal, all other 91 English league clubs have changed their manager

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed he will follow executive chairman Nicola Cortese out of the club should the executive chairman leave.

The Italian businessman is understood to be considering his position at Saints due to frustrations over the backing he receives.

Cortese, who has overseen Saints' rise from League One to the top flight, wants the Liebherr trust to underwrite his strategy to consolidate Southampton in the Premier League.

Oh dear!

Lampard has signed a new one year extension to his contract.

'I'm absolutely delighted," says Lampard. "Everybody knows I always maintained the dream was to stay at Chelsea. We've been talking for ages and even though it went on for quite a period it was always amicable.

'I want to thank Mr Abramovich for everything he's done in making the dream a reality. I love this club, the staff, the players and especially the supporters, who have treated me fantastically since the day I arrived. The thought of helping the club to more success in the forthcoming years is all I ever wanted. I couldn't be happier."

Sky Sources understand Brighton have suspended manager Gus Poyet

Brighton have suspended manager Gus Poyet and his coaching staff, according to Sky Sources.

The Uruguayan is believed to have had a series of disagreements with the club's board over his transfer budget for the summer.

Poyet's future on the south coast was already the subject of intense speculation linking him to a number of vacancies elsewhere.

He admitted he was "considering his options" following Brighton's play-off semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday.

The 45-year-old is reportedly on Everton's shortlist to replace David Moyes when he departs to take over at Manchester United in the summer.

:D

Well he certainly wouldn't have a problem in that area if he replaced Moyes. *:D :D

Goodbye Gus.... Can't say I am upset tbh. Now someone else will have to put up with his constant moaning.... Guess what, we don't have a big wage budget Gus, and we were never going to!

He has been great, but definitely time to go. Someone asked me the other day if we will keep hold of Gus, with a few big teams sniffing round, and was surprised when I said 'more likely he will be sacked'.

Straight swap in talks? Spurs want a cockney manager?

;)

Jol has badly taken them backwards lately, seems odd that Frei hasn't been used much, I think some down to injury, most not, while Emanuelson has been diabolically awful when I've seen him.

The second half of the season under Hughes was a 30 point half season, with the first half all draws with both strikers out with broken legs, but playing well, with them back for most of the second half of the season(but not all IIRC) they were pretty damn good. Started off the same under Jol but they've gotten worse defensively, worse offensively and the last 8 games have been embarrassing. Apparently Jol stated "we're on 39 points, we're not safe, we'll work hard to make sure we're safe as soon as possible", or words to that effect and have since lost almost every game and scraped a couple draws, being just awful.

He's bought badly, didn't replace Dembele, or Zamora, Ruiz was working well at one point, then stopped working, Berbatov is great but needs better players around him and creating chances, and the guy from Wigan whose name I can't remember, was a very bad idea.

Today is going to be hilarious!

At least I can sleep easy, knowing that Tony Bloom will sort things out.

What is actually going on? Have they given a reason for suspending him? Or have they just done it because he's stepping out of line and on the verge of annoying everyone at the club?

I've got to say, he may moan (and I know nothing of the situation!) but to get you into the play-offs with the reported 4 smallest budget in the league is pretty decent!

What we know-

  • Brighton are claiming a serious breach of his contract.
  • Tarrico and Charlie Oatway(club legend and in his testimonial year btw) have also been suspended
  • Gus refused to handle the retaining list, as he said he couldn't guarantee being here next year.
  • Gus is always demanding more money, which simply isn't going to come!...Tony Bloom will not risk the future of the club.
  • Nobody was happy with his comments on Monday night(though the club has said that is not the reason for the suspension)

As brilliant as he has been for the club, getting 4th is an incredible achievement for us as you say, I will not be particularly sad to see him go. I love him, but he just moans all of the time....If we lose, he arranges a press conference to moan about the budget. If we win, he arranges on to talk about how he wants to move to a bigger club...and questioning Tony Bloom's ambition is a complete joke:mad:...Tony Bloom is BAHA, and Gus will not find a single Brighton fan who is sympathetic to him, or who will take his side over Tony's!

PS. IT is also widely thought that the player knew Gus was on his way and all this before Monday...if true, that is appalling!
