I think the suicide rate in Newcastle would skyrocket :p.

I'd be first. :p

Article makes a good point, if you sign a certain type of player you need a manager to play them in that type of system (which Pards doesn't) If you want to play 10 behind the ball and catch them on the break with a hoof up to a big man, then sign them type of players.

Please go former, please go former. :p

You could also sign a player and hope to mould him to play a slightly different system because he might have certain attributes that transfer well?

Wait, Manchester City own another football club or is it just a big partnership?
As far as I can see we own it. It was going to be a separate thing owned by ADUG. Which is basically an investment group and the same people who bought City.

But we are partnering with New York Yankees, for the exposure I think. They haven't put any money I can't see in any report.

With it being owned by City I guess it is just another addition to getting around FFP although that is being made a mockery of even more now with Monaco so it will just be more advertising and a revenue stream.
I don't know anything about the MLS but I wonder if we could loan our youngsters out there?

Yeah knock the cute thing on the head Tummy, it's gay.

"United fans are so cute......." Is something you keep coming out with lately, it wasn't so long ago you classed yourself as a United fan, so either make your mind up, or knock it off with the sly digs :)

Really?
It is simply not possible to change the team you support, every football fan knows that.

I vote Pardew gone.

Good article.

The article is rubbish from start to finish, Arfa was stiffled to use only 30% of his creativity, and you didn't see a problem there?

Secondly it's suggesting Carr is a brilliant scout, yet can't scout players that suit the system Pardew plays? So he's a scout that can only find one type of attacking player that plays a certain way, does that sound right to you? A scout looks at players, thats it, thats the job, he looks for defenders, wingers, strikers, midfielders, goal keepers, which system does a goalkeeper fit into that Carr can't scout for a particular manager? The article is rubbish, nothing less.

Newcastle did have games where they played poorly and got results last year and that luck didn't go for them this year, yet 3 games like that and they'd have been pushing what 8th? How a team plays when half the team is missing for half the season is stops and starts, so the squad is constantly changing, and how the team would play with everyone uninjured all season, well you have the proof right infront of you. Newcastle played sporadically some excellent passing football last year, and very very little this year, so they could last year under Pards, but Pards is incapable of this kind of football.

Anyone not blind can see the situation was to blame for how Newcastle were FORCED to play this season, not the manager.

Arfa when played has been utterly crap, and you don't simply lose skill because a manager might train a specific way. Arfa didn't do well defensively, he was conceding possesion very poorly all over the pitch, making simple mistakes. He's playing poorly so wasn't being started much. Yeah he still occassionally twisted up players on the edge of the box, but his shooting and passing afterwards was poor.

Look at Zola's West Ham for more proof, in that first season(in a better league) West Ham played some brilliant attacking football with Cole and Di michele linking up brilliantly, Parker being excellent, Llunga playing some great football, etc, etc. The next year decimated by injury the team played like crap, and ended up getting deeper, more defensive and worse, that is how it goes when everything goes against you.

The very idea that the club must get rid of a scout or a manager, because a scout can't be told to look for different types of player is utterly ridiculous.

Has anyone ever said it about any other club in history, no, its just this weird obsession with Carr that started last year, largely it seems because no one wanted to give Ashley or Pardew any credit.

In general a scout... you know, scouts players, gives their bosses reports, and those people choose who they want.... the club can't have Carr and Pardew in the same club because Carr can only pick a certain type of player, its so far beyond ridiculous I don't even know what to call it.

I'll be honest, as usual your wall of text crushes my desire to live.

However picking up on one point that caught my eye. Cashley clearly wants a certain type of player and that's what he sent Carr after. Pardew can't manage these players so rather than a clash between Carr/Pards its more a clash between Pards/philosophy.
