Football: Joe Kinnear signs three-year deal to become director of football at Newcastle. Says he hopes to meet Alan Pardew tomorrow

Football: Kinnear says his health problems are behind him, that he's lost a lot of weight, goes to gym regularly and takes long walks.

Not a bad left peg huh?

Spoke to Joe Kinnear. 3 year contract at #nufc as director of football. Overseeing playing style and transfers.

Overseeing playing style and transfers?! We're truly doomed. I'm genuinely gutted that his health has improved.

"I'll have final say." - What a mess, he sounds drunk.

Bring on Arab ownership. I want to buy trophies dammit!

EDIT: This club will not go nowhere fast with these lot in charge: Ashley, Llambias, Kinnear & Pardew - You couldn't find a worse foursome to run your club.

Shame they didn't give him an 8 year contract! Suppose you can get down to League 2 in three seasons!

You would rather our old lot? :p

Newcastle continuing as a joke of a football club, same old same old

Glad I never got round to getting that season ticket, would rather never watch them again than pay that ***** wages.

JM dispelling sum miffs about how things roll at Chelsea -

"Shevchenko? It’s not true the owner forced him on me."

"Never, never during my time did the owner interfere in the basic things of the manager – training sessions, team selection, the profile of player I want to bring."
"Do you want to know the truth about Shevchenko? I hope the board is not upset with me. We wanted to buy Samuel Eto’o, he was our target. We wanted Eto’o and the owner was more than ready to do *everything to bring Eto’o here."

"In the end, Barcelona said, ‘We don’t sell, forget it, forget it. Not any price’. The owner did everything to get him, but it was not possible. After that, we went to other options and got to Shevchenko. I was happy with him."

Ray Wilkins said very similar about his tenure and the Torres signing in particular including how he was Ancelotti's desire, not RA's.

JM also said he knew Fergie was going months ago and told him he wanted the Chelsea job above all others -

"I knew that Ferguson was retiring many months ago, and I am so happy with his trust because it was big news for the world - I can imagine that just a very small circle around him knew that, and it was a big responsibility for me to know that.

"Why do I know that? Because we are friends, so if I am his friend to know that he is going to retire, he is also my friend to know that the club I want to coach in England is Chelsea. Of course I told him I want to come to Chelsea."

Mourinho added: "I would have turned down every job in the world, the Manchester United job, everyone, for Chelsea I would turn down every job in the world."

He's like the Robbie Keane of managers.

I knew it wouldn't be long before one of you two Chelsea supporters posted those quotes, suffice to say it's easy for Mourinho to say Chelsea was the only club he wanted to manage after he wasn't even considered for any of the others. Funny how he never said anything like that during the past 6 years though isn't it ;)

Previously thought by vulcanologists to be dormant. Fresh warnings of new eruptions ahead #nufc #jfk

Yeah well easy, suffice to say that at least my post includes quotes and not just speculation or opinions that numpties prefer to believe.
I hope you have reasonable proof stating that he wasn't even considered for 'any of the others' otherwise you'd look a right ****

Here's some quotes for you;

When asked if he and United could be ‘a marriage’ when Fergie finally retires, Mourinho said: “Who can say no? Nobody could say ‘no’.
“Manchester United belongs to a small group of clubs around the world where nobody can say ‘no’.

Oh and well done for finally growing a set and just coming out with your insults, it was quite pathetic seeing you hide behind insinuated insults for so long ;)

Depends on what you would class as reasonable proof, I'd say the fact that we didn't go after him (of which there were 'quotes' at the time saying he was never considered) and City never went for him is proof enough. ** Don't get personal **
