The Batman (Matt Reeves)

To be honest. Genuinely looking forward to this. Pattinson is very good post Twilight. Good director. The suit looks on point and I like the old style Batmobile, not sure when this movie is set but they look to be doubling down on the realism aspect.

Looks like a regular old style car with a big engine thrown onto the rear of it.=/
If its meant to be set as an origin type film, it stands to reason his gadgets/batmobile wont be as good as more current versions. At least thats how im reading into it. I'll give it a go and see what its like.

Still like Afflecks take on batman but do agree the films had their issues and feels like DC want to establish the other characters for now, not a bad idea.

Someone was saying they want this new batman to be set in the joker universe.....

Wonder woman, flash and Aquaman will just have to pretend supes and bats don't exist :)

I agree about Batfleck. But I do think those movies get a bad rap. Apart from the "martha" bit in BvS the entire last hour of the movie is fantastic. Justice League not so much but I understand the issues and requirements for big rewrites and they should have maybe just put the movie on hold.

Aquaman wasn't bad, had some really great scenes but pretty thin on plot and development.
Wonder Woman was brilliant and I am REALLY looking forward to the new movie.

Totally agree the batflect scene in the warehouse perhaps the best action paced batman scene out of all bat films, Aquaman and WW were fun films very tonally different bit like shazam also so I can see why they were hits. Supes and batman are very hard characters to do on film without getting back to batnipples and camp style.

Yes JL should have been put on hold 100%, I think someone hit the nail on the head though a flash point film could alter the time line and world bringing which ever versions together easily but probably many other routes.

Said it before and i'll say it again...Affleck has been the best on screen Batman we've had...Bale close behind as the best Bruce Wayne. There is too much love for campy Keaton and Burtons batman and Nicholsons Jokers is awful, I really don't like that era of Batman movies. Then again, i'm a 40 year old comic geek who's just happy they're finally getting the feel of the regular Batman universe about right on screen after Nolans trilogy and the recent Joker movie.

I don't see how you can compare to be honest - Burton/Keaton were a *comic* movie version, ie set in an unashamedly comic-book world, Nolan/Bale were a *realistic* version.

What's your take on the animation side? Watched Mask for the umpteenth time last week and it never gets old, so much condensed into a small amount of time.
