The Battlefield 4 Thread 2015

DICE and EA need to put an end to game time.

The problem with that idea (Gametime only servers) is that legitimate prospective customers would be thrown into a server with hackers which will result in no sale.

EA should not offer game time, for any multiplayer game, to customer accounts worth less than a certain amount (Must have purchased $x worth of licences). That way there will be a financial loss to the hacker when they get their account locked, and a financial barrier to rinsing and repeating.

If EA want to offer game time on empty origin accounts they should only do it for single player games.

But from a Marketing perspective that massively impacts your sales funnel. Game time only servers is a better solution in my opinion.

Would you buy a multiplayer game if when you tried it you faced one of two issues?:

1) Hackers insta-gibbing you every time you spawn
2) Assuming you were lucky and there were no hackers on the server, no one having the faintest clue as to how the game worked?

Not sure I would! ;)

But look what it does to the current player base. They get fed up, quit or play something else and IF for example they take a shining to Red Orchestra that could be there go to game instead of BF.

- Anticheat doesn't work or is very slow
- Active admins are unreliable

What else can be done besides Game Time servers or allowing Game Time access to those who have purchased atleast one game (This doesn't include free games offered by Origin On The House ?

I vote for the "Game time access for those who have purchased at least one game" as I said previously this then provides a financial barrier to accessing gametime. Single player gametime could still be offered to empty accounts as someone who cheats in a single player demo isn't causing grief for anyone else.

An alternative would be to have to have a payed deposit to access gametime which would be returned if the account was used in a legitimate manner and not returned in the event of cheating detected.

Without a financial barrier there is no disincentive to creating an account and greifing.

Basically they need something to lose to prevent cheating. It doesn't make any sense to limit game time to loyal customers given the potential new customers you are excluding from the promotion. Your second idea might work but maybe less attractive.

Ultimately you need to weigh up the impact of cheaters on an existing loyal player base vs new players. I'm assuming you could put much harsher tolerances into fairfight to pick up cheating in the said gametime servers without impacting seasoned players in the majority of retail servers.

I "might" be on... will probably just **** around in gta though, just cba with this game in its current state now

TBH until last night I've had some really good games in the past few weeks with loads of OcUKrs. Last night was unusual, and I'm hoping it doesn't continue like that.

We've got to join servers that run some LDC content though.

@Stu, get premium!! :p

Personally for me, every night that I have been on since last Friday has just been ****, at least 1-2 cheaters on each night :( And then when I don't encounter any cheaters, I get the black loading screen with EA online error message.... And with it being the weekend, I can only imagine there being more cheaters on.....

Can anyone help me out with a little niggle?

Basically, during some games I get massive keyboard and mouse input lag, where I press "W" for instance and it takes a good 1-2 seconds to get moving. Does anyone get this at all?

Yeah but he was dog**** even with hacks!

Getting a decent card will fix it. Xfire 390's sound good VfM.

Yup but still, he ruined my back rage a couple of times on lockers, no way he knew I was coming yet as soon I am about to start fire, he is just there waiting.... and he has the ****ing nerve to put "gg ez" at the end.......

lol nope, not upgrading just for this game now :p I think it is likely to be my internet tbh as I have had no issues at all in other games + I think I should be getting blue screens or crash errors if it was the gpu or other hardware, this seems more like an internet problem, despite my latency/ping graph being a **** load better, the internet itself feels like **** for browsing etc. it is so slow and at times unresponsive :( Might try uninstalling my antivirus stuff and see if that helps at all.

***** ***** the number of cheaters is ridiculous... jump in - 10-8 in less than 5 minutes 5 of those deaths to people who weren't even hiding they were cheating instant dead the moment 1 pixel of you showed.
