Just reading on symthic there, best audio settings to use according to them is:

Hi-Fi
Surround sound

Hi-Fi/Surround gives you the widest soundstage with good separation between sounds if using headphones. Some people might prefer Hi-Fi/Stereo which brings the sounds in closer and can be a bit easier to tell left<centre>right but not quite as good cues for distance and front/back.

For speaker setups not really sure what is the best but personally don't recommend serious FPS gaming on speakers anyhow.

Yeah I just tried headphones and stereo with surround off tonight, the sound was good but I felt that the dynamic range was lacking a bit, will try those suggested settings tomorrow.

I have always used speakers for all my FPS gaming, I could just never get on with headphones, I could definitely hear more with headphones though. Originally I had a cheap creative 5.1 setup, which was pretty good but since getting the asus essence STX II SC, I wanted to make use of it so got the edifier T1600 2.0 speakers, which are miles better for pretty much everything.

Yes I've had that a few times over the last week , also been getting kicked from games too..just says lost connection ...but that only happens when i'm on a bit of a kill streak

They are 120ohm cans so have you turned on the high gain setting? It's the funny looking symbol next to the speaker icon.

After not seeing a hacker for a while, such a blatant one last night. Nexus, you do pick some dodgy servers!

Didn't use a tank or a lav all night, was having a right blast in an attack boat until I got spuriously kicked for a momentarily high ping.

Good run in the attack heli on Golmund Squeeze, some impressive evasion. I don't know why I'd lost the TV missile from my loadout though. (Sorted now)

Was getting owned on pearl market on the TOGA server, famas pros everywhere. Had to resort to the CQ magic face-melting, and surprisingly good counter sniping abilities of the MP7 to turn the tables.

Maybe! My theory is he's banned from any well admin'd servers for either base camping or chat trolling and as a result ends up on servers which are more likely to have hackers on!

I thought it just used your default browser. It opens in chrome for me on win10

Yeah I have set it to high gain.

I can't seem to pick a server these days where either we aren't put on the worst possible team ever or/and a cheater

See if you can get yourself un banned on TOGA or TM, we have some great games on those servers, against quality competition. And we still win a lot!

DICE Removes skill from CTE:

Hi all,

Last week I asked you what the definition of a skilled Battlefield 4 player is. The thread exploded with posts and great ideas, concerns and questions. As it turns out, there are about as many definitions and ideas of skill as there are Battlefield players.

So how do you capture all those into one single number? Easy. You don't.

Instead we've removed the old skill value from the profile page and replaced it with a "PLAY STYLE" radar chart. This does not indicate skill, but rather how you play. With the radar chart it should be pretty obvious with a quick glance to determine what kind of player someone is.

Each kit has its own radar chart, where the one with most playtime will be displayed as default. You can of course switch between the others too. Now, this is a very early release. Call it a prototype if you will. The numbers WILL need tweaking, and maybe some values should even be removed. Please provide YOUR feedback on what you think needs changing, if you rather we go back to the old system, or if we should continue to tune this. What are you missing from it, what should be added? If an assault has 0 revives, maybe we should replace that value for something else for that player? What should we replace it with? Give us all your ideas and thoughts - and reports if it is broken!

As always, the disclaimer: This is a prototype, it might not make it into the "main" Battlelog. If it does, there is no current ETA. It is probably bugged and broken currently, please help out by finding the problems.

The feature is currently live on the CTE Battlelog.

Awesome! I really hate the 'Skill' stat... we all know that it doesn't really matter but it still irks me every time it shows negative after a round for no apparent reason

I actually find the skill stat in this game to be a pretty good indication of people who ptfo, iirc it is largely based on the spm stat followed by KPM and then to a lesser extent kdr.

I wish they would make the k/d stat 'look' less important especially in game modes like conquest though.

Not sure if I'll get on tonight, internet is down in my area, estimated to be fixed by tonight but knowing virgin they will probably **** something else up...

Will do. If you don't want to spend more than a £100 though, I don't think you can get anything better than the k612.

Banned from auk 1 but not 2 although I refuse to play on that badadmin **** server anyway.

Yup tm is a big no no

Can't remember tbh, I know there are a couple of decent servers which have k/d limits though. Think a few are banned from kof although I think that is a fast vehicle spawn server anyway.
