The Battlefield 4 Thread 2015

Guys, I've been on the forums for a while, have lost the password to my old account (Ingenious TROLL) but still have a good few of you as friends on origin etc.

Mind if I jump in for some games on BF4 with you lot? Just spent a grand and a half on a new rig and eager to get involved with some active players as I spend most evenings on BF and would be good to have some teamplay.

I have a mic and TS etc would just need the relevant info if OK.

There's a few of us who are playing most nights (although I think I'm expected for a GTA heist session this evening). If you join on any of us and PTFO, your input will be welcomed :cool:

The TS channel is dead now, but Josh is running a Discord server for BF4 and GTA.
 
ahhh so you are Tech Troll, seen that loads and didn't have a clue who it was.

Yeah download Discord if you want to jump in with us, it's much better than TS.

Let us know tonight and I will send you a server invite.
 
Last time I played this was February 2014. I decided to play it again (have a Premium account) and I was wondering what is the current state of the game? What has changed these past months? Does it still have an active player base?

Yup, some nights finding a space in a server is hard work. If you last played in 02/14 a lot has changed.

The current state of the game is good, DICE are testing 60/120/144Hz servers in retail at the moment, the latest patch has sharpened a lot of things up.

Compared to not long after release when you last played it is much, much better.

IMO anyway, so will slate it no matter what they do to improve it.

Ha I'm all about playing the objective and sticking together, play medic 99% of the time so expect plenty of revives and heals! K/D isn't overally important to me but I ususally ended up with very decent all round scores on the PS4, just getting use to gaming FPS on the PC again but enjoying it and can see myself putting in a lot of hours so cheers, see you on the battlefield :D

That's grand, cheers. If I'm not on tonight I will be on for a session tomorrow and Saturday night that's for sure.

I've reverted back to Ingenious TROLL on origin, just need to speak to a mod on here and get password reset sorted for my old account here too.

Will get back to you about a server invite, what details will you need?

Nowt bud, I will send you the link via Origin and you copy and paste it into the Discord App software and it add you to the server.

Kind of like the server link for TS3 used to be.

Yes - And they have all stopped playing the game.

My point is, get over it. BF is never going to be how you remember BF2. I'm just sick of hearing the same tune OVER AND OVER again. "OMFGZ BF2 was so amazaballs, DICE sucks" blah blah blah.

There is a lot of rose tinted spectacles too... installed BF2 after it was in a steam sale a while ago and it was a bit underwhelming. Personally I have very fond memories of 1942 to 2142 because they were played in my carefree yooof and at uni with friends... but I bet if i got them out now I'd be disappointed... they certainly aren't the flawless games you remember them as.
