The Battlefield 4 Thread 2015

Thinking of installing this again, whats the situation with hackers? Last time i played it was full of them has it calmed down any?

Still seems to be a few - only seen 1 very obvious use of an aimbot in the last 20+ games but a few probably using wallhacks/esp at the moment it isn't especially disruptive in normal mode as a lot of the time people are spotted or in open ground anyhow.

Had a funny one last night at one point I killed someone and then relocated and they spawned and immediately started shooting aggressively/pointlessly from across the map at where I was despite they couldn't visually see me or have possibly known exactly where I was.

I don't see many hackers on the servers I tend to play on. Try hard scrubs yes but rarely a hacker.

Some good games last night, it was great to have more than enough players for a full squad back on Discord. :)

3/4 wins, and we only lost on Golmund due to TM stacking and liberal use of lockons including the staff shell. Well played lads!

Good games indeed, nice to get back into it and helps we have a competent squad! May have to get a few more in tonight if anyone else is around!

yep was a good set of games last night.

The attempt of the TM lot to stack the server on Zavod was enjoyable, even more so when it backfired on them.

If I install the Discord app on my phone/tablet does that mean I can use that to communicate and won't need to get a mic for the PC?

Does anyone know the difference between Home Cinema and Hi Fi in the audio settings?

Is one 5.1 and the other 7.1? If so why would it also give you the option for Stereo and Surround as well as the option for Home Cinema and Hi Fi?

I've looked all over the internet and no one seems to know the answer!

You answered your own question :)

Hi-FI is 2.0 ( Front Speakers ) Cinema 5.1 Front - Centre - Back and the 1 for Sub.

Probably, but make sure you're using Wifi and not your cell network otherwise it could be expensive ;)

You would still need a headset for the phone/tablet though.

I believe that the surround option enables various software encodings with the 2.0 options to fake up the effect of sounds coming from behind you, etc.

Decided to install this over the weekend having not played for more than a year - time flies...

After opening my 54 accumulated Gold Battlebacks(!) I got back into the game pretty quickly actually.

I've certainly missed a lot of updates (60HZ Servers?!) and I'm assuming there's been plenty of weapon nerfs/ buffs too but it's a nice change of pace from CS:GO for now - can't beat a bit of run'n'gun sometimes :)

Yeah a lot of attachments now affect your weapons stability/spread recovery which can be kind of naff and they increased the penalty for shooting on the move as well.

Really hate the battlepack implementation heh they've managed to completely devalue it by throwing them around like smarties.

Should jump on with us, I'm hoping to be around for a few rounds again tonight, maybe some lockers just to pass the time ;)

I've used it without a headset mate all was ok.

Fair enough, I guess in a quiet room it would be Ok if the phone can pickup your voice well, but if you've got BF coming through speakers at the same time, everyone else on Discord gets to hear.

Yup the more the better! :)

Thats what I thought and I assume this is the case for BF3 because it states "Enable for effects on Stereo speakers" but in BF4 there is a message that states "Only enable surround if you have Surround Speakers, very confusing because I assume the Stereo option gives the in game effects in BF4 if you have a 2.0 setup?
