I'm still getting this dx hung error and i can't fix it, such a pathetic messed up game after all this time.

GPU overclocked?
Origin allowed to run in the background?
MSI afterburner running in the background?

I used to get them a lot when my 970s were on their top factory OC (bench mode) but not on the medium OC setting (gaming mode). MSI afterburner caused me issues as well.

IIRC you can increase the timeout for windows device hung detection, but this is more likely to give you a hard crash instead of a DX hung if your problem is an unstable OC.

My issue may just have been the OC, but I ditched afterburner at the same time.

Try re-installing DXSETUP.exe from the BF4 folder in program files. Worked for my old 580's.

Other solutions that might work:

Reduce OC or underclock gpu memory
Uninstall Afterburner
Uninstall Geforce Experience
Installing vc_redist_x64.exe or vc_redist_x86.exe
Removing old drivers using DDU
Disabling Origin in-game
Tweaking the user.cfg file (never tried it myself)

Same thing also happened with a 780 about a month ago. I tried everything even a reformat. Ended up having to RMA and getting it replaced. Works fine now.

What frustrates me is that the CTE team play initiative has not received the attention it deserves. Players work for rewards/points but these points are not really correlated with objective play. Making it more feasible to get to the to of the scoreboard based on flags defended/captured should be encouraged. Thing is the points were like this in the beta and they balanced it back. Someone going 50/1 in a tank/aa/jet should absolutely not be at the top of a conquest leader board. I fully include myself in this argument.

I'm not concerned about leaderboard scores as those who "whore" in vehicles are helping the team , but it would be good to reward those who go for objectives maybe with specialist unlocks or extra battlepacks. Gun, Vehicle, Soldier camos and XP Boosts are highly desired so instead of standard battlepack rewards they should be included in Objective Battlepacks.

I've said from Day 1 that the commander system is disjointed and should be more like BF2's. It's incredibly boring playing as commander and it seems like a neverending UAV, CUAV spamfest. The teamplay initiative should look into the Commander system also.

Commander is just horrific and also the 50% of the reason we can't have all unlocks in private comp servers. Battlepacks are the main reason tho as people could just use private servers and not have to earn / pay for battlepacks. Lamest excuse ever for fugging up comp time and time again.

DICE on comp BF4 "it'll be the biggest esport in 6 months", then zero esports support was given apart from the utter crashfest shambles that was the 1st 5v5 ESL one cup up until 9 months later when they wanted to sell Dragons Teeth where they made an ESL cup with prizes but only started to promote it 3 hours after the event where ESL wire wasn't working for 80% of people had finished (gg there boys). Oh then they made some more cups but frankly it's far too late.

People are more excited for the BF3 cup that is happening soon.
