***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

OK,so Ive bought the standard edition as I have no intention to ever play this online but last night I installed a copy from a less than reputable site to have an early play around with it. Been playing over an hour today and its total system usage for ram never went higher than 4.2gb and all 8 cores (threads) of my 4770k are around 50%. The version I am using dosnt use origin or any kind of browser so I think I will just play it through as is and not even install the paid for version.

Its quite infuriating when you think about it isnt it,to think that the wrong uns who have no intention of ever paying for games are getting the better end of the stick

Surely they won't be able to go online and play multiplayer though?

BF4 is all about the multiplayer.

Not using origin? Sounds like you have pirated software and are trying to be coy about it. I see what you are saying, but not install the paid for version? lol. Send it back? (or you never actually bought it).

boomstick> Not everyone cares about multiplayer bud.

It is my friend and you are correct,I meant in general really where a lot of DRM restricted games cause problems that those who have cracked copies never run into. There is a surprising amount of people who will never go online with BF4,myself included

You obviously didnt read my post properly did you? I bought the game last week,as stated, so if I want to install a cracked copy that is my choice. If I sent it back then I WOULD be stealing it wouldnt I? I only intend to play SP so this way they have my money regardless of what version I am playing :)

And illegal... and this forum doesn't allow discussion of it. I read your post just fine.

(And yes, it's not the first time that games have run better without DRM btw).

As a counter point to what I said: http://kotaku.com/5909387/is-it-okay-to-download-a-pirated-copy-of-a-game-youve-already-purchased

When I think about it I don't actually know if it is illegal if you own the original. hmm... (But it's still piracy which isn't allowed here).
