I have to launch Origin on VPN and then close the VPN down otherwise it won't launch and gives me the "Not released yet" error.
I can't use FlyVPN as it just doesn't work for some reason so use CactusVPN of which my trial has expired.

Ah well if you read the thread you'd understand then. Its easy to sit there and criticise but if you can't even be bothered to read it yourself then maybe you should keep your 'talking crap' opinions to yourself. ;)

Those original posts quoted were back when all we had to go on was Alpha benchmarks and official requirements. Myself and Retro had some ongoing banter regarding it, which was unfortunately stopped when he got suspended for reasons unknown. Its why i often said 'might' because that's what the early results were telling us. It would have been foolish to claim with complete certainty either way. Later the general consensus became 2gb would be fine at 1080p but not so above that and that was when me and Tone had a little bet.

Wait... so when googaly has bothered to read and calls you out, you accuse him of not getting out, but when I say I won't because I don't want to be accused you double standard it and say I should keep my opinion to myself. The way you discuss things is not holding water Matt.

EDIT: Going back... it does actually look like most of it is banter lol. OMG Please don't accuse me of not going out.. I might need to go to a priest and confess or something :p

For someone who's not that interested, you sure seem to be. The posts quoted were taken out of context. There's no simpler way i can explain it other than the banter me and retro were sharing over 2gb possibly not being enough. Have you looked at the posting date of the quotes Googaly linked? They're all from the same day, way back before any of this started. Opinions were based then on what knowledge we had at the time. The gamegpu vram benchmarks and the recommended requirements. Nothing was set in stone, nothing passed off as fact.

In all seriousness, I was playing the beta with 1.5GB without a single issue @ 1920*1200 at high settings (other than the reported lag).

p.s. Both dogs are ill anyway... perhaps that explains why for once I didn't bother to check the links properly like I normally do :rolleyes:

I'm not sure why but this always provokes extremely negative reactions from people. You're not the first and you won't be the last. Tommy warned me what to expect and he was right.
