***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Nay bother. :)

I'm not sure why but this always provokes extremely negative reactions from people. You're not the first and you won't be the last. Tommy warned me what to expect and he was right.

Don't be a drama queen. It was a discussion and one on topic and in good nature.

Assuming you were talking about our discussion and not you being called out by Googaly :D. If not, ignore ;).

Is there features/performance changes on windows 8.1 that isn't on windows 8 guys?

Having a few issues with windows 8.1 at the moment and thinking of putting 8 back on for the time being.

I run win 8.1
7970 and 5040x1050 and use mainly low settings and run it at 100fps and its just smooth with 13.11v8

win 8.1 make sure you use a fresh install on the win 8 not a old bloated one, so do a reinstall is my opinion and if you did a fresh install, there is something else going on IMO.

now with Mantle my 7970 will become the master of all cards. ;)

What situation have you tested it in then? Care to share you results? It's a very unique scenario where you've got a lack of VRAM but excess raw GPU grunt to push otherwise acceptable frame rates. And that is the key.

Nothing to do with the amount exceeded by as if you watch Vega's video you'll see it occur as soon as he runs out of VRAM.

Doubt it only affects triple screen. Can't see any potential theory for that. :)

When my 2Gb 6950 CrossFire ran out of vram@1080p, it never hit single digits, it would yo yo(for better a term) from +60fps down to ~15fps, up, down and so on it never crashed once so there is a possibility it's connected with multi monitor situations.

Nay bother. :)

It's a grey area, I said it was possibly bandwidth limited ages ago and got called out on that too, glad to see its been accepted now.

BF4 thread in the games section has a lot of 2Gb users complaining of stuttering gameplay both Amd/Nvidia 256bus users, since the game is approaching the limit on vram bus/amount, I'm guessimg it's causing a hit on smoothness at the very least, the majority of beta reviews picked up on this too.
