I've not played it on Win7 so i can't comment on that. THe latest version of directx 11.1 and 11.2 are only supported on Win8. This is why you get better performance on win8 with BF4.

I'm currently making my way through the campaign so no figures from me yet. Other than it would appear SLi scaling on 3 Titans is crippled. Most likely a heavy CPU bottleneck. GPU usage is around 50-60% on first two cards but 3rd card is barely active. Performance appears solid in single player with Ultra / 1440P / MSAA 4X / HBAO so a non issue really.

How big is it btw? I never preload my games on Steam because it chooses the C: drive at default, i have all my games on either a spare SSD or a 2TB drive.

Yep, they did say ~50gb due to the new fancy textures being used, so the remaining 20gb may come from the multiplayer side.

Tbh I haven't enjoyed a cod game since the first black ops, so unless they've put some real effort into this one I can't see my stance changing. But lets be fair, at least it might work which is more then can be said for bf4.

Will try to get some 670 sli benches up this week. Is there some sort of set benchmark we are doing or just giving it 10 minutes or so with fraps on a 64 player server?

No idea why it is bad like that. I can't say I am overly impressed with how the game feels but 1440P can do one and I will be playing this on my 120Hz from now on. I suck badly at these types of games anyways but when a guy comes at 4 of us, I start shooting, he kills the 3 with me, has a cup of tea then kills me, I know I am rubbish and need all the help I can get :D

MP on max details and any map and a good few minutes would be cool.

I couldn't play any games on the 1440 screen i had, even reading the forums and scrolling down the pages would give me a headache, so kudos to you for lasting this long! :D

I'm tempted by those new 240hz monitors, then you look at the price and know you can get the same results doing the lightboost hack on a lot cheaper monitors...the only difference is the VA panel instead of TN :(

I might give BF4 1 last try tonight, if the same **** is happening i will never install again (yeah right....)
 
wish I could play the mp/online:(

if recording with fraps pick 30fps tested with all others and it stutters like mad

Just watched the vid, the 290X and 780 really are splitting hairs in performance when both overclocked, the 290X gets the lead but very close indeed.

It is easy switching between the 2 by making one default at the screen resolution (just found that out) and the 1440P looks fantastic with games like Tomb Raider, so easy to switch back.
