***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

They don't show such variance as the final frame was something like 600ms, in turn its shrunk the chart. It happened to me the other night, little lad managed to turn my PC off while I was playing BF4 and running the perfoverlay.framefilelogenable thing, at the cut off point the recording showed a huge spike.

So make sure to manually disable it at the end or towards the end of every round :)

You better believe it, if it isn't the flashing button on the front its the dangling cables from my mouse and headphones :p

Just got banned from a server for 2 days, for swearing :(

I don't get it, its an R18 game, that involves killing people. Yet worried about swearing?

Today has been fantastic, 2 crashes (hard locks) of BF4.exe resulting in a white screen with audio repeat on. Also this little gem has reared its ugly head again:

shheeeeiiiittttte.jpg

Mr Floaty gun and his refusal to change weapons. Worth noting shortly after this screen shot my chap randomly exploded and caused a TK (i'm not even joking!!).

Its not just me then? i had that last night, i though it might be my CPU over heating as i have it 'very' overclocked again, 1.52 volts running on it :p and this GPU does kick out more heat than the 7870XT did.

Just happened a third time, no driver errors or bsods, process hangs until I manually kill it.

Sounds like we have another bug on our hands :(

Since when did the internet ever make sense :D

lol true.

Lets wait for the next deformed yank to go and shoot up his school, its all good as long as he doesn't say **** :p

"In other news today a 15 year old reject shot up his school killing 32 students after playing Battlefield 4, fortunately for everyone involved he didn't use the word ****"

^Agreed.

So far today I've managed to get hoofed from 5 HC servers, all in a good days work.

God I love ******* people off.

A new game if you get bored, join a German server, wait until someone says something really complex in german and then just say that word in chat box every 20-30 seconds :p

^^^Use dropbox. 50Gb free cloud storage that is managed from your desktop/phone/whatever.

I was getting some mahoosive CPU spikes with res scaling up towards 1440p.

Oh G36C is the new 'weapon of choice' for those that want to use it.

I swear to ******* god I'm going to take this ****** BT router and beat it to death with this ****** Gigabyte motherboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: working again now, Ethernet port was saying no connection yet letting me view certain sites, reboot of everything seems to have cleared it.

From HardOcp who were big on Crossfire being a stutter fest. All games tested in DX.

" Let’s talk about smoothness in gameplay in CrossFire versus SLI. With the AMD R9 290X series AMD fully supports Frame Pacing in Eyefinity and 4K. This option is enabled by default. Our feedback on this technology is that Frame Pacing works well to reduce choppiness and create a smooth and fluid gameplay experience with R9 290X CrossFire. We did not experience any choppiness or stuttering with R9 290X CrossFire like we do with the previous generation. There isn’t much to say on this topic anymore because with R9 290X CrossFire it just works, and it does a good job at it.

We only experienced one stuttering situation and that was with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI in Far Cry 3 at 4K. This could simply be a bug, but we did experience it, and it did affect the in-game settings we were able to play at. Overall, the smoothness between SLI and CrossFire in every game seems to be on par now. We have no major complaints."

I would wager stuttering in crysis 3 @ 4k with ti's is likely down to hitting the vram wall rather then frame pacing issues.

Smoothness is dependant on user perception, you don't know how bad it is until you've tried better kind of situation. Similar things were said of gsync, in that what you would have classed as smooth before using it simply wouldn't be acceptable after exposure to it.
