***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Ahh, very nice. Hope it works out well for you. Tempted by X99 myself as I'm a bit bored with vanilla haswell now.

Wouldn't bother with X79/X99 unless you use 3 gpu's or you're a bencher to be honest setts. Aside from Firestrike I'm noticing no gains over my X79 setup with tightly tuned memory. Infact, i may even be scoring less as my 3970X did 4.9-4.95ghz when pushed to the limit. Time will tell, I'm still getting to grips with this 5960X. It's a stinker though, that's for sure. :p

You're mad.

Thats the AMD gods angry with you that cursed your cpu :) Grats on your new build hope you get it all tweaked how you want

After a full week trying to fix it I think I finally sorted it.
All I did was reseated the 2nd GPU lol

New windows install, changing drivers, change system drivers, new sound card and all I had to do was reseat the card.

Very happy with new sound card though :p

:DI thought it was a battlefield.thread
Yes this thread was originally setup to test fps on different cpu/gpu combos. Unfortunately bf4 doesnt have an inbuilt benchmark. But there is a thread in the pc game section of the forum, but it deals more with server choice, discussion of games played etc. As bf4 is still a pretty demanding game both cpu/gpu usage, its a good judge of performance for a system. Sure the raw benchmark figures are scattered throughout this thread, but it's a good place to find tips/advice for what is still a very popular game. Information that would be lost in the pc game bf4 thread. And the moderators on here are willing to allow this thread as long as it maintains good civilised discussion.:)

^^ Kaap, this is how it should look. ;)

I would stick with the 290 as Mantle works beautifully with that CPU in supported games, i have one. :)

:p Said i wouldn't do it Bah Humbug!

Make of that what you will.

Radeon and Mantle, definitely the way it's meant to be played. 4K maximum settings with Quad 8gb 290X cards.

Sorry for the poor quality, but i was doing the filming handheld and running. :D

Nice flat performance graph Matt, though as im getting on a bit and the ol eyesight is poor, im struggling to read the fps counter.:D Game does look very nice at 4k though. Also gotta give dice credit where its due, connection issues here aside its running so much better since the last two patches. Havent benched any of the latest maps as im too busy enjoying them when playing.:)

I know mate it's crappy quality. Don't worry, as soon as i can record it in full screen mode using Raptr I'll be posting footage here because to put it bluntly, it looks and feels unbelievably smooth. Using four gpu's and getting smoothness like that is unheard of, so it makes you stand up and take notice. Minimum fps was 95 or so i think and average was well, a lot higher. No specifics for now, but I will update in time.

Pretty impressive scaling there. At my current res with 2 cards on a decent uk server my minimums are 91. 4k would be nice but not on theese current cards. Messed about with DSR a bit and had to drop a fair few settings to medium/high to keep it playable. 2560x1440 would be fine though.
