***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Rgr that pal,
being pricing up a loop for my system...not cheap at all :(

64 player Conquest, Siege of Shanghai
2013-12-05 11:38:14 - bf4
Frames: 167912 - Time: 1436515ms - Avg: 116.888 - Min: 69 - Max: 201

Initial outlay costs are the stinger, once you're sorted with res/pump/rads/cpu block the water upgrades are a little kinder on the wallet. Saying that you still need to add £80-100 to every gpu you buy.

The good thing is water kit doesn't usually hold much second hand value, this is where you save lots of money :)

I'll try another video shortly and try a preset recording option rather then custom and see if I can sharpen it up any. Will also try with adaptive vsync enabled.

Could be onto something, BF4 is on a mech drive for me (1tb sammy).

The only spikes I get off the screen are at the very very start of the game.

Another video incoming, just trying a 2 pass encode, see if I can sharpen it any before YouTube destroys it.

I can't believe how hard it is to find an online video playing service that allowed anything over 30fps!

Plus its not the frame rates (directly) that were looking at, its associated CPU spikes causing setter stutter.

Will double check my video (just uploading) but adaptive vsync seems to have stopped any spikes.

2.8GB video uploading, 50k bitrate from a 2 pass encode with VFR, if youtube blurrs the crap out of this, I'm done :p

This one came out a bit better:

I haven't 100% checked it but besides the usual start spikes I can't see any other spikes throughout the game so adaptive vsync certainly looks like an option setter :)

Sounds sweet

Absolutely loving 780 sli to the point I may go tri once I get my new monitor :)

Rev2.0's iirc have an uprated pcb and power design...nearly got one my self until I realised a block wouldn't fit! Wish giga would get back working on soc's :(

Its not tri sli ready :( sli requires a minimum of 8x lanes, so I may have to treat my self to a new board too, but hopefully by the time any of this happens some maxwell info will surface. Need to see how these stack up against 1440 120hz gsync first, if it does what it says on the tin I may well be fine with two of them. Plus I'm running underclocked to 1006/6000 atm (from 1110/6200) and know I have at least 1306/6600 in the tank to use if required :)

What monitors you 2 using if you don't mind me asking?
You don't seem to have any tearing at all.. i get far to much tearing!
I'm still using the old Hanns.G HF287HJ 28"!! not sure if this is the problem for me? think i need new monitor!
Not having fun playing as i can't get it set right.

What is adaptive vsync ;)

Asus VG236HE 120hz for me, getting changed out for something a little newer tech shortly though :)

Adaptive vsync is basically a way of steadying the frames on the screen (I think!). I'm not too clued up on it tbh, I've only this last month or so started to use it now and then.

As luck would have it I turned off any form of sync earlier, and with my 780's underclocked they sit at.....~122fps :D

1440P 60hz screen. I don't get any tearing in BF4 without vsync. One reason why Gsync/Freesync is not a feature im that interested in currently.

If you get the chance to, try see a side by side in person, the feeling I got from those who have tested it under their own conditions, that you don't know how bad some of the issues are until you see it fixed as pc gamers have been using it in its current form for so long that its almost how we expect a game to look :)

Unfortunately for those that live in the middle of nowhere the only option to try it is to buy it :(

Yep the swift is aimed mainly at nvidia users due to the gsync module.

The single best thing you can do when looking for a monitor is go to a shop and try a few out, everyone has different preferences.

TIL Matt is left handed.
