*** The BIG Christmas Competition *** Win the best Christmas ever!!

I think it would still get posted about around the net that OcUK are doing a huge giveaway competition and would still get people looking at the shop website, even if it were limited to loyal forum members. Imo anyway.

Not nearly to the extent that it does when people can actually enter.

I've never seen a post on another forum saying 'Hey guys, check out this cool competition on another site, chances are none of you can enter because you haven't been registered for 3 months but isn't it nice?'

No one would care what sort of giveaway they were doing if they couldn't take part in it (unless it was a seriously mental, like £10,000+ sort of giveaway maybe).

Well by the looks of things it does appear that some lurker/random person who isn't a member here won the prize :( (I am sure someone would have posted here by now saying that it was them who won even if they didn't have many posts and be over the moon about it).

I just hope who ever it was is actually going to be using the items themselves or giving away some things to family that need it and not selling everything.....

*Goes and checks on **** now for bargains!*

:p

Still think the comp prizes should have been divided between multiple winners and the items allocated to those that needed a certain item(s) the most (just simply get people to post a pic of there current setup/rig with some hovis in the photo :p, check forum posts etc.).....

Well you might be right. This is only my opinion, and OcUK have been in business a long time, so who am I to suggest things. :p

But the way I see it, word would still circulate the net about the competition and get people's awareness of the shop. If people had to join the forums and have over say, 50 posts to be eligible, it would be fairer. Once they've joined and realise they can get free shipping over 250 posts, they'll ultimately bring in more business anyway. This way, OCUK could have their cake and eat it.

My name is also Philip. When I seen the tweet on twitter earlier that said "Well done Philip from all the team" it had me excited for a second.. lol

Congrats to the winner!! :)

If I had won I would have taken the screen and PSU and given the rest away to deserving forums members :(

Gratz to the winner, likewise I hope Phil is a forum member too so we can get a pic of all these goodies together!

Dons, has the prize actually been claimed yet?

If not, how long are you going to leave it and will you pick another winner?

Our lucky winner Phil Saurin from Cumbria had his prizes dispatched today. He told us "What a suprise as i never enter competitions normally, hence the fact that i never win anything! What a suprise it certainly made my day! :)" We've asked him to supply us with a photo of him and his prizes, but obviously, that's completely up to him. If he lets us have one, we will make sure we post it for all to see!

I really hope he does supply us with a photo, it would be great for us to be able to prove it went to a real person!! Not that our forum members are a cynical bunch of course ;)

I think next time we do a big competition like this (wink wink) i'll write it into the terms and conditions of the competition that the winner must supply us with a few quotes and a publicity shot of them and their prizes! :)
