The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

Quick question about tag team wrestling.

Why do they allow things like breaking up of pins, running in, general dodgy play?

When they're in the middle of a normal match, it wouldn't be allowed, so why is it allowed here? For me, it just really degrades from trying to watch proper wrestling.

well its normaly done so the guy who runs in and breaks up the pin distracts the ref while outside interference happens. just part of how the match is choriagraphed to make it more exciting when they kick out of being hit by the belt/ring bell or something.

*Semi Spoilers for 19th Dec Smackdown* :D

Triple H was such a badass on Smackdown this week.

The crowd went wild when his face was on the titantron near the end. His music also fits him perfectly even after all these years. Good game motorhead :)

Massive risk of turning Shelton Benjamin into HHH regarding how long he's held the title.

But unlike HHH he's not even that exciting to watch, so much so that i'd infact totally forgotten about the US Championship.

I guess he's an improvement over the IC Champion though, William "one expression fits all" Regal.

At least Regal is English unlike the Canadian Irishman Finley. He will probably drop the title to CM Punk. I can see Umaga getting a push when he returns, perhaps he will take Kozlov's undefeated streak?

When Kozlov does go down I think it's going to be to drop the belt. I'm just hoping that there isn't a repeat of the Brock Lesnar fiasco.

According to several fans in attendance at tonight's SmackDown brand house show in Raleigh, North Carolina, reigning WWE Divas Champion Maryse suffered a traumatic injury during her match.

Maryse and Natalya were wrestling The Bella Twins in the third match on the show. As Maryse worked one of the twins over in the corner, she suddenly collapsed to the mat. She appeared to have blown out her knee as she was seen clutching it.

What followed was an awkward scene in which Natalya stood on the apron not knowing what to do while The Bella Twins went around the ring playing up to the crowd. Special guest referee Kung Fu Naki stood over Maryse talking to her. The road agent for the match threw up the "X signal" and a number EMTs, referees and road agents hit the ringside area. Meanwhile, Natalya entered the ring and made one of the twins submit to the sharpshooter to put an end to the match. Maryse was then carted off on a stretcher.

This is a horrible break for Maryse as she beat Michelle McCool just last week to become the new WWE Divas Champion. It goes without saying that she'll be forced to relinquish her newly won title and take several months off due to the injury as well.

You might want to do a bit of background research into Finley before you suggest that he is anything but Irish.

That's awful! She'd just won the belt as well.

I guess they'll just pass it on to Maria to continue the feud with McCool.

Guh, finally we get the belt on somebody who is a good heel and who can wrestle then this happens. Give the belt to Natalya she has some pedigree and can bring to meaning to the belt.

Agreed, although McCool I think can wrestle, she can't act to save her life.

I was surprised when the gave her the title first - I was sure Natalya would get a run with it to try and build her up (she was quite new at the time).

Hnmm sorry about the Finley thing. I remember reading somewhere that there was a Canadian pretending to be someone else. Oh well.

Sorry was Santino, the Canadian Italian.

did anyone watch raw last week, looked like a fan ran in to interfere with the womens match, dont no if it was staged or not, looked like she just jumped in from the crowd.

Answer:

As seen on RAW last night, a female in the front row was seen holding a sign reading "Glamazon in Training." WWE's cameras closed in on her while Beth Phoenix made her entrance for the Divas match. This is of course WWE developmental Diva Milena Roucka, who as reported earlier today, was brought on the road for this week's television tapings. Roucka is a former Diva Search contestant and has been in developmental for over two years.

And for those Christian fans like me - looks like he is on his way back to the E:

It definitely appears that Christian Cage is returning to World Wrestling Entertainment after spending the past three years in TNA. There have already been talks of holding a match between Christian & Jeff Hardy at WrestleMania 25.

Unless things change, Cage is expected to be revealed as the mystery person in the storyline of who attacked Jeff Hardy on the morning of last month’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. We haven’t been able to confirm that Cage has officially signed WWE, but that’s the belief given the plans they have already formulated. Likewise, TNA sources have been saying for weeks that they believe he is heading back to WWE. No word yet on when he’ll make his official return.

Other news:

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that despite only taping one television match thus far, a few key WWE officials have already begun to doubt the future of Kizarny. Johnny "Ace" Laurinaitis, WWE's head of talent relations, is said to the primary supporter of Kizarny, and his decision to push him on Smackdown is now apparently drawing him some heat within the company. Kizarny will make his official TV debut this Friday night on Smackdown, however he has been wrestling in house show matches against MVP for quite some time now. Although Kizarny picked up the wins in these matches to further MVP's losing streak, it's being said that the matches were controlled and carried by Porter. This is the second time in a short period that there have been doubts about a new talent, as WWE pulled the plug on Hade Vansen after airing just one TV vignette.

It would be hillarious if the lights went out at Royal Rumble just at the 30th participant entered. Then all we heard was that choir beginning to his song when he was in WWE before, "CHRISTIANNNNNNN" that would be be pure gold.

There the music :D Doubt it will happen though :p

I think its nearly 95% sure that he will sign with WWE and appear at RR though.

Just watching the Smackdown repeat, it seems with the heel turn McCool's wrestling skill has also gone totally out of the window.

Very few of the Divas can actually wrestle in my opinion, they just highlight how scripted it all is with their play.

I think only Beth Phoenix, Natalya (to a certain extent) and Mickie James can wrestle now. The rest just really grind my gears.

Is it a thing in the WWE that the Divas need to have little to no actual wrestling skill?

I think there is a list they go through when they sign a new Diva up.

1. Is she good-looking?
2. Is she good-looking?
3. Can she wres... nah sod it.

Some don't even tick the top two boxes.

Victoria? Pfft... forget it.
