I have a 48” and can tell the difference viewing from 5 feet or less. Anything over and I struggle to tell.I think so.
For what it’s worth, I have 4K 49” TV and apparently that’s too small to tell the difference between 1080p and 4K... although I swear I can tell the difference... just
If you are going for a new TV, don’t forget about HDR.
My TV was a Samsung KS8000 I believe, which cost just less than £1000 a year ago. Its great in all ways EXCEPT for light blooming, which is virtually unavoidable on non-OLED TVs. If you watch credits at the end of the film, the is a subtle white glow around the white text. Most of the time this is irrelevant though - it doesn’t make any material difference when watching the vast majority of films / playing games. Otherwise it’s great - wish I went for 55” though!
Wow what rubbish - I decided to buy a dishwasher (not on sale) and was going to order today from John Lewis... overnight put the price up by £100! Ffs!!!
I assume this is ‘sale’ related...

Yeah that’s the plan. Very annoying though.... hughhh.I suggest waiting for a bit then and take note of both prices
Look at the reviews for the Samsung KS8000 I mentioned, might be what you’re looking for.
A quick google shows it’s availible from £800. I think the MU8000 is the successor. That's not available any more is it?

Other than that nothing really unless a super cheap 4k tv comes up but I doubt thats going to happen
I saw it for £800, is it still a worthwhile TV to get?

How's this tickle your apples?
You’ll have to read the reviews and decide - I’m not an expert. It was very well regarded at the time. The 7000 series was the slightly cheaper model with, afaik, a lower quality stand and lower quality speakers, and some minor loss of functionality. Also I recall reading the 7000 series was more ‘plasticy’ and that some backs were falling off - you’ll have to google that!I saw it for £800, is it still a worthwhile TV to get?
