You’ll have to read the reviews and decide - I’m not an expert. It was very well regarded at the time. The 7000 series was the slightly cheaper model with, afaik, a lower quality stand and lower quality speakers, and some minor loss of functionality. Also I recall reading the 7000 series was more ‘plasticy’ and that some backs were falling off - you’ll have to google that!
As far as I’m concerned, when buying, it had good HDR, a nice stand, very low input lag on game mode - all these things are still true. Upon purchase, I thought the sound was decent too and I have no incentive to buy a sound bar.
With all TVs there are some compromises. You cannot get non-OLED screens without some light bleeding. Just doesn’t happen AFAIK. OLED screen are, or at least they were, epically expensive - the only real benefit as far as I am aware is that dark scenes look better due to the lack of light bleeding.... but they tend to have significantly worse input lag and a worse viewing angle as well as a massive price! So pick your poison. By just ‘getting over’ the occasional light bleed you save yourself a lot of grief... it only makes an obvious difference during credit sequences and almost certainly won’t be worse than on you current TV.
The only other thing to add is that 4K is only noticeable at normal viewing distances on a 55” plus tv. Of course, 1080p will probably look better on a smaller screen, so again - pick your poison! All in all I was and am very happy with it, although I haven’t picked up any 4K discs since those that came with the 4K player... CBA, not a huge enough difference to justice the expense of the 4K discs on a TV of that size.
You’ll probably only get a perfect TV for a grand in a few years time.
Hope that helps![]()
OLED TVs have the best viewing angles of all the TV screen types on the market! It's LED that have the worst. The Input lag is also very low on OLEDs, not the absolute best but certainly very low. OLED TVs are significantly superior to LED TVs, the cost is the only real negative. When I was looking for TVs, this time last year, there was an obvious winner for picture quality alone.
