The Black Friday 17 Thread! - pls make sure you understand competitor rules

I am looking for a 4k TV. Something around the 50"-55"

After 10 years my Sharp 40" has started to play up. If I see something good come up I will pounce but don't really want to spend much more than about £7-800.

...don't call me Shirley :p

Surely...too

More of a gimmick then you think for a curve screen and that size?
I think so.

For what it’s worth, I have 4K 49” TV and apparently that’s too small to tell the difference between 1080p and 4K... although I swear I can tell the difference... just :p

If you are going for a new TV, don’t forget about HDR.

My TV was a Samsung KS8000 I believe, which cost just less than £1000 a year ago. Its great in all ways EXCEPT for light blooming, which is virtually unavoidable on non-OLED TVs. If you watch credits at the end of the film, the is a subtle white glow around the white text. Most of the time this is irrelevant though - it doesn’t make any material difference when watching the vast majority of films / playing games. Otherwise it’s great - wish I went for 55” though!

Look at the reviews for the Samsung KS8000 I mentioned, might be what you’re looking for.

I'm keeping my eye out for a 144hz super wide 34+ inch

maybe a new GFX card if theres any good deals.

got a hisense 55inch 4k tv last year for ~£300 bargain

Have rarely found anything useful on the Black Friday sales.

Purchased a Panasonic LX100 lastronomy week. I know this won't be on the offer as Pana have a rebate anyway.

Typically, I've found dead the sales after Christmas to be better.

Those of you after a new TV, I picked up a high end Samsung 1080p TV from RS for less than £350 with a 5 year warranty. But did wa it until early January to buy.

I'll be after a VPN renewal on Cyber Monday & maybe an M.2 SSD if I find a good offer.

The Nord VPN three years deal for £75 seems pretty impressive. I have been trialling their service for the last few days and the speeds are more than comparable with AirVPN.
