The Black Friday 17 Thread! - pls make sure you understand competitor rules

Only place i've found to do decent deals in the past was dcshoes website. The 40% off for black friday usually stacked on top of sale items as well, meaning i managed to get a bunch of shoes in my size for once (uk 15) and at around £25 a pair!

The only things I have seen good deals on is US stuff. So things like music software / VSTs that can be purchased online from US companies.

The UK is a load of disappointment in my experience.

The day the Amazon bods sit there and say “Right, this 2 year old unsold electric toothbrush is £75. Let’s raise the RRP to £125 and offer a massive saving of 50%! Someone will fall for it”.

Amazon?

A great many retailers do this. Saw a toy sale in a large supermarket the other month where a dozen pallets were brought in with plastic toys listed for £30-60.

Sat there for a few days and then a magical discount of 50-75% was applied and the sale began.

Price establishment, before the product can be put on promotion it has to have been sold for a certain amount of time in a certain number of stores for "full price". I worked for Sainsbury's once upon a time and there were a couple of bays tucked away in a corner that was used for price establishment of items not usually sold there. They'd get a single case of each item delivered and it'd be put on sale at a price nobody would ever pay for it until the promotion could begin.

Size 15?

Should go to mountain warehouse and buy some canoes

On a serious note, I bet it's hard to find places that sell shoes in that size, let alone on sale!

Does anyone know if they have Black Friday sales in Germany? Theres a few things I'm holding off on buying as i'm in no rush and want to see if they go on offer.

Iv bought a hive, 124 quid.. It will do. Its a lot for a thermostat but i have an echo so will link. Plus the system iv got now is rubbish its a programmer and wireless thermostat which is terribly inaccurate.

Why do you think everyone calls me boats? :P

I know, its literally the only time it happens. Thats the sole (pun intended) reason i enjoy black friday :D

According to my German colleague, yes. They also have them in Austria.

I wasn't planning on buying anything but since I haven't shopped at amazon for ages, they've sent me a code for 10 quid off anything that costs 50 or more. If I stick to something for exactly 50 quid, that's 20% off which isn't too shabby.

My tight mate from work wanted one for his daughter so ordered a couple weeks ago to get it out of the way, hes fuming its reduced by £20 haha

That was a bit daft really, it was pretty much a given that Amazon were going to reduce them for Black Friday! Decided to grab a Dot as well, for £35 it'd be handy to have one upstairs as well
