The Boys (Amazon Prime)

It doesn’t really matter a great deal they’re so far off the plot of the comic that the characters have to be different to deliver whatever the shows plot requires. Don’t get me wrong I thought the first season was great, but it’s inspired by the concept of the comic it’s not tv dramatisation of it.l

I am a little disappointed with the huge divert they've taken away from the comic at the end of S1...comic spoilers follow

Namely that Butchers wife seems to have happily had an affair. One of the darkest moments of that series, let alone any comic series is when Butcher wakes to find the foetus has ripped out of his wife and he has to beat it to death

I agree it’s an opportunity lost. But let’s hope their plan is just as significant.

Finally got around to watching this over the weekend and annoyed that I've left it on my list so long, really enjoyed this and not like any shows in this genre that I've watched before. Hopefully don't have to wait much longer in the year for s2.

First show I've seen Anthony in since Banshee and took a while for me to get used to him with hair but damn does he play his role so well.

Im just watching this now too, two more episodes to go, and hadn’t even realised it was him until reading your comment and the lightbulb just went on in my head :)

Knew he was familiar from something but couldn’t place it.

Saw this by chance Prime with 5 stars so worth a punt I thought.

5 episodes in and I love it. I genuinely don't understand how people find the myriad of ****** superhero flicks entertaining and discussion worthy, yet this is the one that deserves recognition and is relatively unheard of.

yea I didn't recognise it was him for a bunch of episodes but he's superb in this imo.

seems it took him until 2003 to star getting consistent acting work.

everywhere says his networth is only 800k
I'd have assumed he would have been worth more but I guess lesser well known actors even in lead parts like banshee don't get paid that much :S
btw found a good qoute from him
“I had a job when I was 15 working at a supermarket, and I knocked over a stack of plastic coffee cups. In my anger, I threw one at a concrete wall, and it rebounded back into my head and cut my head open. Stupidest way to get a scar, but it’s one that I have.” – Antony Starr

Looks like it could be good again here’s hoping. Really enjoyed first season. Got barely anything in common with comic by this point other than the characters so interested to see if they can pull together a compelling overall arc.

They've either got a great idea that's gonna be as good as/better than the comic or they've **** the bed and written themselves into a corner.

I don't mind deviations from the source material but i'm genuinely a bit disappointed the different direction they've taken with Butchers wife.
