The Callisto Protocol

We are nearly a month only away!

Not sure why I am not that excited for this. Could be that I did not like Dead Space as much as others and this looks like that. Will wait and see what reviews say but probably will pick it up once it is under £20 in 6 months or so time if it is decent.

"Better than we hoped" doesn't really say much other than they are being paid to do a video or whatever, under NDA to not say it's bad

Looking forward to this, Dodging attacks, if you time them right, then thwacking enemies with your baton or other melee weapons looks super satisfying, can also implement stealth and long range attacks with pistol, shotgun, and i believe there is DLC planned

Do you have Ultrawide on PC? And do you have a capable GPU? I fully expect the console versions to be running at 30fps/40fps but equally have frame drops like observed on Plague Tale 2 when the action gets heavy.

If yes then the decision is simple :p

Only thing for me, is the close combat looks good and all but if all your doing is the same thing over and over again it might be a bit repeative. Whereas in Dead Space you have the variety of weapons. Will need to wait and see.

Good point that, they will need to find a way to freshen up the combat, they say it is more focused on getting close to enemies, but theres only so many times you can throw enemies into spiked walls, grinders etc before it can start to become tedious, still looking forward to it though

Some stuff that I hate about games that try to be "scary" are low FoV, poor control (dead space 1 style which completely turned me away from the series), artificial crippling of gameplay/story elements to induce horror/tension (Amnesia: Dark Decent, some parts of the Metro series).
I think the last time that I felt I wasn't too much artificially kept "scared" with stupid gameplay elements was in Stalker.

You can use a FOV enhancer with Dead Space, which makes a world of difference!

This will need it too :(
