Are people using machines for the wax stage?
Polish with machine, wax by hand. That's how I've been doing it.

£38 on ebay for a starter kit (Silverline polisher, three foam pads of different compound, woolen bonnet).
I ordered one on Tuesday and it arrived today.
Can someone come and do my RS4, its more grey than silver and I need it to be silver again.
Give me a few weeks to ruin my LCR perfecting the technique and then getting good on the 330d and I could be tempted

Be for sale soon though - my first Ford has taken its place and my drive's getting a bit cluttered again, because the Ford wasn't the only thing to come along this week. Damned eBay

Is Chemical Guys All in One Polish or Autoglym SRP and CG Pete's 53 a good combination of polish and wax? I'm told it's an excellent wax and the all in one polish is very good but I already have some SRP but I don't think it's very abrasive at all
Is a sealant a better bet to repel crap from the paintwork? I have some AG EGP but never had very good results from it. Maybe I'm just inept

i have practically everything you have there mate, including same model silverline jobby... does nothing for CW. most unrewarding colour ever

Just over £40 from i4D. Couldn't be bothered with cutting the last few pounds off and finding the cheapest place, plus i4D havea 7% detailing world discount. Just going outside for a go as my car is going to be idle until monday.

Mine is oxidised on the bonnet, roof and rear a;long with loads of swirls, thus more of a dull cream. Looking forward to seeing what it can do to give it some life back!
edit: It's far too late to go outside and use a rotary for the first time, what was I thinking. A beer and a shower are much needed as I'm still in my gym clothes
