I've got a wheel brush that i clean the insides of the wheels with each time i was the car, cost me about £4 from a car show and its great. Spokes are wide enough apart to be able to see the inner dish of the wheel but too narrow to get your hand in between :D

What about the back of the spokes?

As I am still deciding what cleaning products to purchase and awaiting new parts to fix pressue washer I took my car to a hand car wash...for £4 I got:

Pre-wash with hot water & snow foam
APC sprayed on alloys and lower sills on car
Pre-wash rinse
Wash with lambswool mitts...I noticed they used different ones on each car + 2 bucket method (!)
Rinse
Wheel sealant, polish & Wax

Was thinking to myself...why would I ever wash my car again!? Tempted to just pay for a paint correction/detail and take it to these guys!

I can hook my fingers round there with a wash mitt, just can't get the whole of my hand inside the wheel :D

Theres room there... but then theres not

Got my 40 pack of cleaning wipes through this morning, will give the leather a good going over tomorrow but i'm a bit worried about how to store them long term, surely they are going to dry out after a few months and I doubt i'll be getting through 40 that quickly!

Does MM allow you to sell car cleaning stuff? ;)

Get some 50/50 shots with the wipes and some before and afters.

Do you have a sofa you can use some on?

I gave the car a wash and quick detailer treatment on Saturday, the horrible hail dents don't seem as obvious now.

I have a cheap random wheel brush that the brush part has started to come out of the handle and spin around which is a bit irritating. Can anyone recommend me a brush that isn't too expensive and also a pointy thing for getting dried polish out of panel gaps and the like?

Thats a good deal. Who knows how many cars had been washed with those mitts though :p I always pay someone to do the inside because I really cba.

I look at all my cleaning stuff and think...these will probably last longer than the duration I keep this car. For example, I have 2 clay bars left, I have just clayed my car so in theory that's a few years away !

I would be easier to pay someone but, at last at the moment, I care about what products they use so I want it done right (for example clean mitts, good wax, and non acidic cleaners), plus I want to learn about how to maintain keeping a car. A skill that I can use for the next car, and the car after that.

To be honest, I did ask to check and was very clean! More than happy with the service!!

I think I may invest in a paint seal but may never wash a car again!!

Once my car is all shiny and polished then sealed and/or waxed (waiting for just a few hours without rain!), what would be the usual process of cleaning, say every 2 weeks or whenever it needs it? Just pressure washer and shampoo? How often would you use the polish, sealant and wax?

£4! How did you manage that?

Depends how durable your protection is, every 3 months would be a good start for a deep clean/LSP.

Depending what's available to you and how dirty your is car, you may not have to do too much.

What I would do for a weekly/biweekly wash.

- Pressure wash the car
- Snow foam and leave to sit for 10 minutes. Agitate any tricky areas with a soft brush while snow foam is still on.
- While Snow foam is on, spray wheels with cleaner and agitate with brush.
- After the 10 minutes is up pressure wash off all the soap from the car and wheels.
- Any tougher areas hit with a cleaner that won't strip your LSP (Auto finesse Citrus Power for example)
- Pressure wash off cleaner.
- Clean with 2 bucket method.
- Wash off soap with open ended hose.
- Spray Quick Detailer + Dry.
- At this point you can top up the LSP or add some gloss enhancers.
- Buff off if required

Lol...Just the price list the car wash has.

Literally in around 6 months we have had around 5 pop up around town, I guess now with prices all the same it is now down to service.

Took 2 guys under 10 minutes to do. The wax is like the Autoglym aqua wax so easy for them to clean off.
