I had one of those soft brushes, came bundled with the Comma alow wheel cleaner spray. It's soft and is simply there to loosen the caked in brake dust and **** that the spray lifts off. TBH it's not needed if you have a pressure washer.

Spray wheel cleaner on alloys....leave for a few minutes then blast off with pressure washer and watch as your blackened alloys suddenly become nice shiny silver again.

I've always had to wash the wheels afterwards though, wheel cleaner and a pressure washer get rid of the worst of it but you still need to wash them afterwards!

I scrub them while covered in Bilberry juice with a fairly hard plastic brush, it does the job but spins around in the handle while I'm doing it haha. That soft brush might not be enough for me but I'll have to see what else is out there.

Does anyone use a pointy stick thing for polish in cracks or would a brush be a better idea?

Yea not looking for full correction, just to remove what it can.
Then I'll whack SRP over the top.

I bought a DA about 3 years ago, I only managed to do the bootlid.

If we had any summer I'd try and tackle the bonnet!

My dads polished motorbikes he's been restoring by hand with great results , even filling , wet sanding and hand polishing out marks such as stonechips

Takes plenty of time though and that's a much much smaller area than a car

Halford 3 for 2 is back on but I'm still not entirely sure which polish I need.
Gonna grab a bottle of AG Shampoo

And what else would be useful?
SRP? Scratch X?

Noticed a fairly deep scratch that I think I may need to fill first :(

Already got the clay bar, buckets and assorted cloths.

I spent three days straight cleaning the 530d inside and out before giving it back to my dad, only for him to take it to a drive-through car wash a few weeks later. :(

I think there are pics earlier on in this thread but it looked like a mirror.

Hs anyone used the coloured T Cut before? I need to polish a grey VW and was thinking of using it to get rid of a fair few surface scratches... Or should I juse go for the original T Cut?

The 3 for 2 offer in Halfords is ALWAYS on in my local store...

I use Turtle Wax shampoo, excellent stuff and it's only £2 a bottle if you're buying something else in Halfords ;)
