:D

Not got any pads yet, didn't need the kit as I got enough polish/wax and what not so just need pads and going to get that separate. Hex-logic pads are supposed to be good but they are 5.5" where the DA comes with 5" and 6". What size should I go for?

Yup !

Basically I've been spending the past week reading DW.

I know there are a few things that is a must have and "best", and I also know there are no "best" in other things.

From what I've read in the last few days

Snowfoam seem to be the preferred "Touchless" wash
IronX - everyone should use this to clean their wheels, I tried this on my 1 month old refurbished, washed 3 days ago Alloys and still had loads of purple streaks.
Gtechniq G1, much better than RainX apparently, I've not tried it yet, but it claims to last 20k miles once applied!
FinishKare 1000P Hi-Temp Sealant for Alloys, from what I've read (subjective) it last longer than most - I tried that today, not easy to apply and it smells like petrol!
Zymol Glasur supposed to be the daddy, it seems a lot of love in DW for this wax but at £100 a pot...I rather wax my car more regularly lol
Tardis to remove tar on the car - be careful as if you got a tarmac cover drive, it will strip it! Auto Finesse - Oblitarate works almost as well but doesn't do that lol
Collinite 476S really do last but not easy to apply and remove
Dodo Juice - Supernatural Hybrid Paste Sealant - lots of people like this, i would probably give it a try after i've used up the waxes i got now.
Carpro Wool Wash Mitt and Dodo Wookie are the mutts nuts
Costco apparently does a 36 Microfibre cloth pack for like £12 ! (I am not a member :()

Basically, I know now that what I've got serves as a base, and as the AG stuff are finished, I'll replace it with other/better products.

Hs anyone used the coloured T Cut before? I need to polish a grey VW and was thinking of using it to get rid of a fair few surface scratches... Or should I juse go for the original T Cut?

Maybe look at the stuff I posted above?

Hiya,

Yes that looks like good stuff, good reviews and write ups everywhere.

TBH I was looking to buy something off the shelf and use tomorrow like T-Cut, bu wasn't sure how good it was? I'm using it on a car I've fixed cheaply and want to sell on, so this is just to get rid of a few scuffs/scratches for the pictures, etc.

If I'd be wasting my money on T-Cut and you think I should go with that, then I will. :)

I am not taking the fall for stripping your paint :p

I'll just park it outside your's looking like this..you won't be able to resist! :p

How did you manage to still have purple streaks?

Also just get Wolf's Deironiser as it's exactly the same but cheaper...

God knows, washed it on Sunday and applied AG sealant, drove about 100miles on the same day and car has been parked since! There's hardly any on the rear but majority on the front. Although its nowhere near as much as those YouTube vids.

Ah I misread, I thought you had purple streaks for 3 days!

Here's my streaks cleaned after about 2 weeks / 250 miles.

I had slightly more I recall, more than I expected as I only washed it on Sunday! I guess there are things regular wheel cleaners won't shift.

On the other hand, I'm sure it also removed some rust from the calipers, bonus!
