Let us know how you get on with that Ray. Looks a bit sheepy :D

I have a Meguiars mitt (microfibre) that's brilliant.. and it was half the price you paid. Interested to see if it's any good!

What's a good swirl removing polish that can be applied by hand? I've only ever used AG UDS and that is dusty and needs a lot of work, the fillers fade after a week or so. Would it be a better idea to use a glaze like Poorboys Black Hole and then sealant/wax over it? Rather than trying to repair the scratches.

I posted this a couple pages back, looks good.

Anyone had some success with polishing by hand?

I'm thinking of giving this a whirl.

The Megs mitts dont like being left to soak, hand wash them or machine wash them at low temps and dry asap.

Guys, what would you do for a new car, Ive got a Black A4 on order (dont hold it against me lol), I'll be putting on FK1000 as the wax, but in between, should i put anything else on, I havent had a black car for many many years and i really want to protect this from the get go, but with minimum maintenance, hence the FK1000P of which i will be putting 2-3 layers on.

You can put a sealant under the wax, something like EGP. FK1000 is a hybrid so you might not need a sealant, you could however make it more shiny by applying a glaze underneath like amigo or meg #7, or Dodo juice Blackhole.

p.s. there are some discussion about the FK1000 shouldn't be used on top of a glaze as it is solvent heavy, so if you were going to use a glaze, use a natural wax on top.

Any ideas on which alloy cleaner to use to get rid of these rusty looking marks on my alloys?

Corroded I think.....certainly hasn't come off in normal washing in the almost year I've had mine. Can't remember if it was there when I got the car though.......

Try some Iron X, it's not that expensive and everyone should have it really, great cleaner.

and if it still bugs you then have them refurbished.

I have a Black Astra, bought it 7 weeks ago, however some nice chap decided to key it, cheers pal.

Any ideas if i could get rid? they are pretty deep scratches, dont want to spend the money on a respray it covers the door panel and the rear section (3 door car).

Some chump hit my Astra in the works car park this week and scuffed the wheel arch and rear bumper with scratches similar to that.
The panels and the bumper haven't deformed so lex are sending auto restore out to it to repair it.
With scratches like that a decent body shop won't charge the earth to repair it, the certainly won't need to do the whole door.
