I got them in Homebase, found them by chance because I already ordered JML branded ones on ebay which have not yet arrived so thought I'd give the £2 ones a try and they worked super so will keep the JML ones as spare for future use :p

The old man loved the work the pads did on his Accord's sports steering wheel too, only thing on the dash not shiny in his car now :p

Thanks, i might pick some up tomorrow and give them a try.

Expect a "I crashed my car because my steering wheel was too slippery" thread in a few days. :D

Afternoon guys - hoping for a little help on the car cleaning side....picked up my new (2nd hand) car on Saturday (a dark grey mini cooper s) and hoping to keep it all fresh and clean...was thinking of the following essentials...any comments / tips owuld be much appreciated

Car shampoo (dodojuice one?)
Car mitt
Bucket with grit grid
Drying towel
Meguiars clay kit (clay lube spray and clay)
Dodojuice lime prime
Wax (dodojuice purple haze if I can stomach spending £30 on it...alternatives welcome...)
Cloth to buff up the wax

AutoG glass cleaner
Interior fabric cleaner (already purchased from Halfords...)
Alloy wheeler cleaner (open to suggestions)

Do I need any polish on top of the wax?

Thanks guys

I assume you're buying 2 buckets? As for wax, I would recommend Finish Kare 1000P, which can be had for about £27 including delivery, and it will last a long time. It can also be used on wheels. To apply wax get yourself a few foam applicators.

For alloy wheel cleaner I would recommend either Autobrite Very Cherry (which I use) or Bilberry.

Polish goes on before wax. Wax is the final stage to seal and protect all that hard work.

autoglym fast glass? im not sure if there are another 2 products i need at the moment, but im sure i can convince myself i need something

i swear fast glass is just rebranded supermarket glass cleaner.

The glass polish is a milky substance that dries to a chalky residue. Wipe off after 10-15 seconds once its dried and it leaves a lovely brilliant sheen that i just havent got using any other glass cleaner.

Comes in a tub with a flip top lid. Fast glass has a squirty handle thing.

Those magic eraser things are good for getting polish marks off exterior plastics too.

I much prefer the Glass Polish to their Fast Glass.

I found that I used the fast glass up fairly quickly and it wasnt as good as the GP.

Just put a small blob of GP on a microfibre and your pretty much set to do the whole windscreen and it leaves them perfect.

40bhp from a manifold, cam and ECU? Not bad. The TBs will really help it out.

Rained here today so haven't been able to do mine. Just got my foam lance and snow foam too :(

They respond very well to cams, it idles pretty badly and will do untill he gets the throttle bodys. By the way it made that figure on the Rolling road on wed night at track and road after they had live mapped it :) Revs to 7800 now i belive too !

And pffft rain i cleaned it while it was raining :p

Just used one of the cleaning pads mrk posted on my steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake....the white section of the pad came away almost black , it really has taken the muck off. Like mrk said though, it's also taken the gloss shine off the wheel so it's back to a grey matt finish.

Pics or it didn't happen!

Thanks to Nick though for pointing the pads out to me few days ago (albeit on irc) :D
