I wish i had a drive, Ive not washed it for months as its a real PITA carrying buckets of water across the road and finding the soapy water has dried on the car before i had a chance to rinse it properly :(.

Still it doesn't look too bad and the Collinite wax it holding up well.

SoliD asked me to have a look at the Range down the road to see if they sell Nilfisk pressure washers as detailing world recommended them above Karcher ones and lo and behold they sold em - £39.99.

I scanned the barcode on my phone and the cheapest it found online was £54.99 at a competitor so I bought it :)

Used it to clean the wheels and test out the power on some paving slabs out back and it's pretty powerful, managed to rip away the dirt ground into the slabs and of course the break dust from my alloys :p

Will do a proper clean over the weekend or on Monday.

So far it's excellent, can get some snow foam now too as it comes with a cannister that attaches on.

It comes with the shampoo/foam cannister, 2x heads (rotating blast and flat blast).[/QUOTE]

Where did you get that one from chap? :)

My mum got me one of these, they are crap.

Get the halfords sheepskin washmitts, I have just got a few and the quality is better than the Eurow's from CYC which have started to fall apart after only a few months.

good informative post

the sheep skin one i had for a few years went hard and bits came off it. the asda one is much softer and you can do grimey bits with the reverse side

autoexpress thought it was the nuts too and we all know independent tests can be treated as gospel

Yeah I discovered the Kent noodle in Asda last year and Poundland have similar too. Works great. Can't go wrong for a couple of quid.

Hi Guys,

Havent posted in these forums in ages, and i dont think i ever have in the motors section, but I was hoping that someone could recommend a place where i could get my car detailed/waxed nicely, somewhere near East London.

I just bought a 535d in black and it has some really really bad swirls in it, and tbh i dont have the time, or the patience to do it myself. Thanks in advance.

Make your own choice based upon their previous work. Most post up regular write ups of what they've been doing

this A) enables you to see what products they use and quality and length of work etc..

and B) how busy they are ;)

i noticed something yesterday whilst looking at the car out the window at work. mine has been recently polished up, the water is sat on the roof, beaded into little dots. the car next to mine hasnt been polished up for ages, the water is sat there in a sheet

the sun came out later, the car next to mine was spotlessly dry, it all dried in one sheet. mine had small water marks from the beads drying in dots.

thats annoying... after all the polishing it dries and leaves marks cos it dries in dots!
