I'll have to drop in a picture of my DC stuff. Almost fully done all the Bat titles throughout new 52, got q few to add in (Batwing and Batwoman) and going to read the Justice League stuff to tie in with Trinity and the convergence event.

Really has been a great read and general quality is great, would thoroughly recommend it to people as a good "in" point for Bat titles.

It's been a while since I posted in here. Still reading all things DC Comics. Well I say all things. But my current run of titles are:

Action Comics
Batman
Batman & Robin Eternal
Harley Quinn (including Power Girl and Black Book)
All the Justice League (except for Dark and 3001)
Batman Beyond
Batman Superman
Superman
Superman Wonder Woman
Suicide Squad
The Flash
Superman: Lois & Clark
Superman: American Alien

And a few more I may have missed. I haven't taken pics of my comics for a long time. Perhaps I have gone off the novelty of posting pics of them. Lol.

Dynamite comics bundle offer here...

https://www.humblebundle.com/books/dynamite3_bookbundle

With the recent Boom and Image comics bundles, i've got so much to read right now for hardly any cost.

I do love these bundles I am looking forward to reading the Django/Zorro collection and the Game of Thrones issues.

My digital comic collection is turning a lot like my Steam library though! Best start working through them,

Marvel comics really hate your average white male :p

Thor = white male, now white female
Cap = white male, now black male
Iron Man = white male, now black female
Wolverine = white male, now white female

I think Hawkeyes is the only Originsl left unchanged and he seems to be being phased out in favour of the young avenger female Hawkeye.

I'm down with representing diversity but have all white makes being whipped off the face of the earth? :p

I'm all for diversity as well which is why this makes me so sad, they feel the need to change established Heroes gender/race rather than come up with new and original Heroes of different gender/race to fill the void.

The lack of creativity and originality in comics (and to some extent movies) when it comes to heroes of different gender/race is really poor!

Thor - They already had a strong potential female lead hero in Valkyrie, why not give her a comic of her own and leave Thor alone...
Cap - This wasn't actually a bad idea, in the context of the story but still why not have a new black male hero in the same vein as Cap, maybe he could be trained by Cap and so on...
Iron Man - Yeah this is just stupid...
Wolverine - I'm not up to date with this one, is the new female Wolverine an actual replacement or just running along side?

It's a replacement in Xmen, it's his daughter though they are doing something called old man Logan concurrently but I'm not sure what it is continuity wise.

I agree re introducing new characters, lazy Marvel as usual. DC have went about it the right way they now have Batwing (I'm not fully up to date but I believe he is the son of Lucius Fox) who is part of the bat family with his own run and the new Robin (well Bluebird) who supports batman and even Julia Pennyworth. Keep your characters who are established and loved in place and be creative with new characters!

Guess you have not been that up to date. Because they launched DC Rebirth in May. I won't post any spoilers. But you will be pleasantly surprised/shocked with what you read. Especially regarding Superman and Batman.

Thor: Still a white male, name passed to new wielder of Mjolnir - October 2014
Cap: still a white male, passed on to another white male, passed back to the first white male, passed on to a black male (August 2014), still used by the original white male
Iron Man: Tony Stark is still a white male, Riri Williams is a black female
Wolverine: Wolverine is a dead white male, his clone daughter is a white female - November 2015.

It's not like it happened overnight, or you've cared enough to post about it during the last 2 years ;)

I'm having a hard time keeping a straight face imagining that white males are under-represented in Marvel comics :D

Isn't Thor on it's 6th or 7th run? I don't think it's ever been a real smash without tying into films. Original Thor still exists by the way, he just can't wield Mjolnir because (Marvel does terrible crossovers) reasons.

I'm confused with your objection - isn't the new guy Sam Wilson, who was a new black male hero who was trained by Cap and so on? Did you have the same concerns when Bucky took over? The fact that OG Cap's new comic is called Steve Rogers: Captain America seems to make it tough to get upset about this one?

Iron Man - not stupid, because an old man bankrolling a teen into becoming a hero can be awesome - see Batman Beyond. Tony still exists and still makes suits. He's just got someone else to fly them (see War Machine, Pepper Potts, Iron Legion, etc)

Wolverine is dead again - I believe that's now so many times that they had to make up new numbers. X-23 has took over - she's a clone of Wolverine and has been around since 2004. There's no point caring anyway, unless Marvel gets some deal in place with Fox, they are going to kill off all the X-Men titles anyway (see Fantastic Four)

So, 1 new character, 3 out of 4 have direct ties to the original character, 3 out of 4 original characters still exist, no actual changes to race/gender.

Is Rebirth better than the New 52 stuff...especially where Batman is concerned?

Depends why you didn't like New 52 Batman? Rebirth is excellent so far, but we've not even seen all the first issues yet.

I never had a problem with New 52. I can see why many did. But so far, Rebirth is receiving a lot rave reviews.

Court/City of Owls, hated it...was poor after what i'd been used to with Batman pre "new 52".

Good lord man, what is wrong with you :D. The other new 52 Batman runs were very different to Snyder's run though, did you read any of them?

Hard to say at the minute, there's only been rebirth and 2 (I think) first issues. Maybe let the first arc of each play out, see how that goes.
