The correct way to eat a custard slice?

I slice a knife horizontally through the custard and eat the non-iced bit (with half the custard) first and then the iced half.

The Dutch have a similar issue with their Tompouce, which is a bit like an inferior custard slice. Virtually impossible to eat in public. Not ideal date food.

I think the only way to eat a custard slice with any class is to slice it like a loaf of bread using a laser. It lacks the structural integrity needed to be cut with a knife.
