The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

Got it today and really enjoying it. Running on an C2D E6600@3GHz, 2gb Ram and 8800GTS 320Mb. Just ran on the settings it gave me, absolutely perfect, no framerate issues or CTDs whatsoever.

It's a really enjoyable game and very well designed to help you get into it. I'm currently trying to do the quests for the womans book, I think its a great way to get players exploring. I've also seen bits I recognise from the trailers.

Oh and the butler robot from the house almost made me rofl for real.

Got this in the post today for PC and 360, not really in mood to play games today though as feeling rough, did install it and have a little blast on both though :P , took an hour to install it on my PC  that was annoying

I have been playing for a few hours now
And I like it very much BUT the old oblivion bugs are showing :(

People walk through rocks or get stuck behind and then move fast about
the place like a rabid fox and some characters in the game
hope and skip as they walk..

But so far I am having fun.
I just hope they patch this better then they did oblivion.

I'm going to grab a copy of this tomorrow from that well known high street gaming place.

I was going to get it on the 360, but I much prefer this type of game when I can use mouse and keyboard, so PC version it is.

Really looking forward to it, it's sounding like a stonking game so far.

I was feeling the same as you, but the further you get into the game, the much more fun and interesting it becomes, the bugs are still there, but there less of an issue as they are earlier on.

Its getting REALLY good now, no spoilers here, but i'm starting to take some of my statements back.

Been playing for a few hours now, really good so far, enjoying the freedom of it.
Getting a nice 40+fps on 1680x1050 4xAA and most settings on high, will max everything out later, looks slightly dated alongside recent titles but still really nice (screenshots here, no spoilers)

Got my LE copy today, very disappointed with the figurine that came with it really doesn't come close to the Big Daddy that came with BioShock :( Wish I'd of gone for the CE now

As for the game itself I'm just about to go in for my first play now, had it installed since I got home but the g/f has been round  :p

Its annoying that i have to keep pressing v to enter that turn based attack thing. Wish it was auto when a enemy was spotted and in range.

Also got through the subway but when i get to other side then out im under heavy attack so ill just leave that for tonite cos its gona be a tough little skirmish tomorrow.

Btw what attributes and percs did you choose when in making a character stage? (ill post mine tomorrow)

Glad you got it working and cheers for the spec / fps report. Good to know my rig will be up to it :)

Not sure if its an ATI bug but getting really awful FPS on a 4850 + QX6850 with or without AA @ 1920x1200 max gfx (which the game recommended on launch). Going to try it on my other PC to see if its any better or not (4870 + Q9450). So far like the game and there is a lot to do (already unlocked 4 achievements which is nice!!) but the FPS is dropping to 5-10 in places which for the level of gfx is very poor.

Ive been getting the occasional drop in fps, usally when i enter the V.A.T.S , but at times i need to enter that simply because i keep running out of ammo so have to switch to baseball bat, point in case, was low on ammo and was doing some exploring when i ran into a super mutant, was able to take him down fast using my hunting rifle but ran out of ammo, and around the corner was a super mutant brute carrying a minigun, i ended up having to use my BB gun on him as going melee would have killed me.

This is so much better with the 360 gamepad. Loving it so far, very immersive (is that a word?), and the post-apocalyptic setting is much better than Oblivion, IMO.

LOL

Spoiler Warning!

[spoiler-----------------] Went to the tower and triggered the bomb , nuke explosion!. Went back to megaton now ruins and that annoying women who gets you to do stuff for her book was now a ghoul. So i shot her in the head :D [spoiler-------]
