The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

I'm going for the "good guy" option too, although I did kill the overseer right at the start ( was in a bit of a panic trying to escape and didn't realise there actually was an option to spare his life ).

Also, as already mentioned, I too get the sidebar flickering on the right side of the screen every now and again.

Come to think of it, this happened a few times in FarCry 2 as well.

I did that too and felt a bit bad! I haven't seen the sidebar flickering on mines.

(come on ye Bairns ;))

I killed the Family, the keep going mad at me and start shooting without saying ANYTHING so i killed them all =]

And with the overseer i tried to talk to him but NOOOOO HE wouldn't listen, and then my gun slipped and he died...gosh i feel bad :P

I have played about 8 hours i think and i only just payed the geezer 100caps to know where my dad ran off 2, i been doing sidequests instead :D

Love this game

I NEED to play more

But i still can't find my DARN screenshots WAAAH :(

Oh i defused the bomb, and got some caps, what happends when it blows up? :P I think i might stand next 2 it till my rad goes up 2 600 and get 40 hands grow out lol

If you drink the water next to the bomb you become irradiated quicker

hmmm i don't know if i can be botherd to get RAD 600 now as i already done the challange of getting RAD 200 for the survival guide, can i do it with 600 again?

I better check before i get some arms growing lol =]

Gah, happily played this over the weekend, 20 hours, then bam it was over. Going to load my save up near the end and just wonder around I think. I was only level 16 : / and played it on normal.

Anyone find keeping Dogmeat alive more trouble than it's worth? When there are enemies in the area he'll just growl then suddenly shoot off somewhere, a few times I've seen him disapear then a few mins later say 'Dogmeat has died'.

Reading the Wiki page it says briefly he can search whilst the player carries on, is that the idea, do you set him to go find some ammo/food etc then he returns with it?

My screenshots are the same, they definatly do not go into the game route directory or anywhere else infact. They do however get put nicely onto the windows clipboard. So if I take screenies I also have to have photoshop running and ctrl+esc back to desktop and paste into photoshop.2

It's long winded but does the job!

And please people dont just rely on autosaves...

Look what happened to this guy :p (From Official Fallout 3 Forums)

"So tonight as I was about 40+ hours into this game working on a certain quest in the Jefferson Memorial building, I go down into a hatch, the normal "autosaving..." message comes up as usual then all of a sudden the game freezes and decides to say [censored] you to my computer(first time its ever crashed on me). I have a pretty good computer(xp pro, 2.4 quad core, 4 gigs of ram and duel 8800gt) and I was forced to hit the reset button on my computer because I was unable to do ANYTHING. So Im thinking at least my game saved before it crashed...yeah, no. I go to the load screen, I see my autosave game there, try to load it and something really weird happens. It drops me right outside in front of vault 101 with no gear, map has been wiped clean of locations, no quest to do, and it like I have just walked out of the vault except worse because I have nothing, not even any clothes.

40+ hours of gaming COMPLETELY gone. I guess its partly my fault for relying on autosaving but this should never happen in any game. If theres any way to fix this let me know...otherwise I want my $60 back Bethesda basically stole from me."

All his fault the poor noob :(

Had exactly the same thing happen to me last night, but I don't rely on just autosaves. :)

did you do a lot of exploring?

I just did whatever quests happened to fall into my lap as I moved along, I didn't "rush" through the main storyline on purpose, it just so happened that nothing else came up along the way, I did all the survial guide book quest, and the others from Megaton then a few from Rivet City, then nothing : /

i think im going to have to go evil. mainly because been good has got to be boring?

Minor spoiler if you haven't seen the gameplay trailers:

I'm being good in megaton as present, doing all the quests i can and reaping the rewards but... as soon as i've finished bleeding the place dry i'm going to steal what i can, arm the nuke and leg it.
