The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

1.skill based i guess . enemy grows lvl if u will

only when you enter an area,

ie you go somewhere at lvl 5, some ememies will be a bit above that, some below most around it.

COme back when you're level 20, everything there is still around lvl 5.

Enter a new place at 20 things are around lvl 20 too.

Heya,

Have you guys checked the name of the Megaton guard on the bridge.
Hehe, the name of the guy must have somehting to do with your timezone setting in your computer!!

U running those settings on a 8800 GT ?

I'm playing the game on a 8800GTX, 4GB, Q6600 and I cant max it out like that. I have to play the game with everything on high and no AA, otherwise it slows down in the outside areas.

Same setup as you got everything on highest with 2xAA 1680x1050. I wouldn't say it runs that badly. Besides out doors isn't exactly a fast paced action game. Its one of the best running games I've seen in ages and still looks good. And the load times are just so swift its awesome.

Cant belive how hooked I am on this. I found Oblivion so dead and empty, this is so not oblivion with guns. I can see why people might say that but the similarities are limited to the way the game engine runs, the atmosphere and story type are utterly different.

bit of a warning to anyone whos tweaking about with the .ini settings.

I changed the ugridstoload setting from 5 to 11, it gives much better detail in the distant textures, fewer locations and building pop up suddenly.

The downside is that if you have save games which you basically just overwrite your last save then if you try to change the ugrids setting back to 5 your game will not load that save if it was previously made on ugrids 11.

This happened to me after i found that my machine was beginning to struggle in the wasteland with ugrids of 11.

A lesson to make a clean save before any tweaks :) ah well im gonna start over as a nancyboy :)

Well after a week of playing I managed to clock up over 50 hours of playtime and thoroughly enjoyed it. The best bit for me is that I am looking forward to replay the game as a complete barsteward as compared to my previous angelic iteration. I am in no rush to play it straight away and will go play either Fable 2, GoW2 or Dead Space first. But I know I will come back to it and for me, that's what makes a good game great - the replayability. I also didn't find the VATS system tiresome unlike some reviewers, I actually preferred using VATS.

Fantastic game and anyone remotely interested in the lore of Fallout should give it a go. I'd give it 9/10.

Just completed it and have started playing through again, very good game, and i wouldn't be in a rush to finish it as its not that hard (in fact very easy).

The endings are much of the same and you get a slightly different voice over.

Compleated in in about 13 hours and I wasnt rushing did quite a few of the sidequests, bit dissapointed by the ending and how quick I got to it.
You must have missed most of the game as well over 100 locations to find and around 50 quests to complete in all so plenty for you to discover. Some of the other vaults you find are vast underground structures with plenty of things to find and do and lots of different suits/helmets to find and wear.

Any one remember the different new reno endings depending on which of the mafia daughters/wifes you bonked in fallout2 :D

well just loaded up game from last night. when i heard strange sound just managed to turn around and press vats button nearly fell from my seat. the ****** scared me like hell.
