Admiral. A bit of a debate on another forum I am on about them as they are trying to capture the supercar crew it seems. Chap with several epic cars has got a crazy price for covering them, I mean over 7 figures of cars for less than I pay for 1 car. As you can imagine people piled in with the horror stories. So not my experience, that of others but others I'd value. I am a good risk, 3 points, no bumps of my causing EVER etc.

Insurance can be as cheap as chips and if you never use it fine, you made a great move. It's when you need to that the pain comes and comes big sometimes.

Why I went Manning, their reputation is very solid especially amongst the Porsche crowd, they have since expanded into other marques with good reports on service, plus their cover is vastly superior than Admirals, the ability to drive any other car insured to a value of similar to your own car is very welcome, means zero risk when driving friends supercars. :)

So, insurance quotes:

Have you tried A Plan 'Private Clients'? https://www.aplan.co.uk/private-clients/ They pretty much exclusively deal with supercars and powerfully built directors, might have more underwriters to pick from.

Has anyone stipulated a garage per chance? Might be a good idea for next renewal to try and widen that door a bit. I think Manning refused mine when they saw my 'driveway' was just a gravel alleyway with some recycling bins strewn about (yes they made me send pictures!).

The main issue the underwriters are coming back with is a combination of Age (apparently Aventador falls into the "hard supercar/hypercar" brackets rather than the likes of McLaren or Audi R8 which fall into the "Soft supercar/high performance sports car") so theres a breakpoint at 35 years old where the premiums will drop mega. And also the driveway parking.

If I got it garaged or was 35 or older the premiums would be all under 1k from most companies.

£900 seems like a bargain

Theres a catch, anything off bog standard base spec of the car has to be declared as a mod. I think thats what catches people out with them. Accordingly my policy now includes "exterior decorative changes" and "interior changes" and confirmed over the phone (recorded) that covers everything as the car came from the factory and bumped the premium upto 1k.
