The Cryptolambo had gone to the moon... Time for Cryptolambo 2!!!

Theres a catch, anything off bog standard base spec of the car has to be declared as a mod. I think thats what catches people out with them. Accordingly my policy now includes "exterior decorative changes" and "interior changes" and confirmed over the phone (recorded) that covers everything as the car came from the factory and bumped the premium upto 1k.
Not to sound an arse, but what sort of mods need doing? Go faster stripes:D?

Bit sucky but then to put it in perspective

I was 19 when I bought my celica, I was just coming upto renewal, and my insurance on renewal was £1132, and this was 1990.
I didnt live in a particularly bad place, and that was with 2 years no claims.

People wonder how I remember that amount so specifically, its the most, by some amount I have paid for car insurance.

At that time many of my mates were running cars that cost £100.

I know youngsters pay a lot now but back in 1990 that was a lot in comparison to most, same mates were paying £100-200 or so.

Just farm a few more chia mate ;)

True, but when some drunk driver smashed up the landy 2 years ago and was with pace ward underwritten by zennith the whole process was hardly worth the extra premium I was paying, it was still an uphill fight for everything.

Final 2 quotes came in, one would not cover and the other at £1500.

Will ring back the ones in the 1-2k range and play them off each other for the premiums / added extras. Even after mentioning admirals premiums most of them immediately came in and threw in all the "optional extras" for free so they have wiggle room for sure, just trying it on.

well sounds like a good deal then take it.

Key word being first, I'm ringing from from most expensive down to cheapest, they all have movement in the price.

That's what millionaires do. I've seen my old boss waste and entire afternoon sorting out something worth £25. I did mention that it was perhaps not a good use of his time but got an evil stare.

I'm not that bad but given for 10 mins on the phone I got 400 quid off the first company it seems a worthwhile investment of time personally.

Insanity has arrived :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
