The Cryptolambo had gone to the moon... Time for Cryptolambo 2!!!

That is like me complaining a motorbike is loud, or the TVR that drove past me was loud.
People can complain about many things but the reality is said people need to be told "Sir, its a car, with a big engine, it makes noise just like the plane that just flew overhead made noise, so its not illegal so we cannot do anything and won't do anything" or in other words, get a grip and get on with life, don't try to stop other peoples enjoyment when in reality some noise did you no harm.

The amount of cars out and about that make god aweful pops and bangs, I don't like or enjoy it but I am not gonna complain its just life and it did me no harm. Or just like when a neighbour decides to do building work or kids are out playing making noise, its life, get on with life, enjoy life.

Fact is there are people who just enjoy complaining, meanwhile there are bombs falling in Ukraine.

Sadly some people do and people end up with a S59. My old boss got one on his Lambo because he overtook a local councillor at high revs in her old Fiat. Her quote was "it felt like my whole car was shaking to bits"

She was driving an old Fiat, it probably shakes when she passes wind. :D

Just proves that S59 is abused and not appropriate in some cases.

I agree. It is used not for its attended purpose and all it seems to take is a member of public complaining about revving engines and noise and you get slapped with a S59.

I see for similar reasons the super meet this year at Wynyard Hall wont go ahead there as last year there were too many complaints from local residences in the area about the noise of the supercars as they left the venue.

At this stage I'm not going to post what it is exactly as I need to look at how best to use it, but I have in writing a statement that shows 4 of the officers have lied/made misleading statements to their senior officer as to how the car was being driven and/or actions related to it.

I find it hard to believe that 4 officers are willing to potentially risk their careers and lie in statements about what appears to be about a traffic stop....

I'm not saying anything you did or did not do is wrong but seems very odd they would risk so much by lieing without knowing whether you had dashcam etc.

When I opened up the email I was absolutely flabbergasted at what was there.

It involves doing something with the car that I dont do, out of mechanical sympathy and also because I dont enjoy doing it and in general people who do it are absolute nobbers in my eyes.

Any CCTV from the supermarket... Assuming they said you did a burnout there would be footage I'd hope..
Recently My old man went to court as the traffic cop exaggerated the offence.. The Coppers driving standards were going to be brought into question. (100+mph at night on a busy M6 no Blues and two's) That would most probably leave a mark on his record. So guess what..... He didn't show and the case got thrown out.... He had already postponed it because of annual leave.

West mercia.

I presented them with the evidence earlier today, despite previous emails (all of them) getting replies within 30 minutes. Its gone very quiet.
It does seem massively disproportionate to the event based on what you’ve told us, which I’ve no reason to doubt. What you may or may not have done in the car at any other point in time is also utterly irrelevant here. Be interesting to see how this works out.

Something about this situation sounds off.

Being cautioned immediately, multiple police cars, getting out the car straight away.

Maybe a case of mistaken identity? Then the police are trying to cover by “creating” an offence when they realised it wasn’t the man/women they were after.

Yeah very unlikely to be mistaken identity. It's not like pulling over a fiesta.

Kindai mentioned responding to their questions with a no comment (rightly or wrongly), and I can imagine this ruffled their feathers as it's a typical tactic criminals use - you see it all the time on police shows.

Obviously you're in a no-win situation there, and either have something to hide, or end up incriminating yourself by saying too much.

A dashcam may have been your savior here, but on the flip side, it does also have the chance to incriminate you if you are driving a bit on the wild side. Just a decision you've gotta make (I've no idea how you drive the car).

See there some sanctimonious people on here but also a lot of level headed people.

Taking story on surface value it is a massive abuse of police powers and proof that such vague laws can and will be abused.

Good on OP for sticking to his guns, these type of police are why everyone hates the police' guts and want nothing to do with them. A shame as a lot of police are normal people doing a difficult job.

For the naysayers, let's say that he gave it the beans (we know not dangerous driving or driving without due concern otherwise that would have been the charge..).....the question is who cares? Really who cares?

When I had my first 911 I had the exhaust molded to make it louder. One day I put my foot down, and even though a 20 year old c2 is not that fast by today's standards, its reasonably quick and I think I might have done 30 in first gear so using the rev range (memory slightly foggy as was about 8 years ago). Copper witnessed it and pulled me over, complaining I'd accelerated to hard or some ********. I think it is a case of thinking if its noisy it must be going super fast which isn't always the case, especially if its a modded exhaust and not a turbo charged engine.

Indeed. I have been pulled by a copper for giving it too much beans and accelerating quickly at a roundabout to get through a gap in traffic. Copper gave me a lecture about having a lead foot and that I should take it a bit more easy and what would have happened if while flooring it, a child had run out into the road. they really dont like (noisy) fast acceleration in towns. No idea how they will handle cars like the plaid.

I do love the what if discussion. I had it when I got pulled over for speeding on my bike on the motorway.
"what if an animal ran out, what if your tire blew, what if someone suddenly stopped" Well on a bike with nothing but some Kevlar and plastic to protect me I'm pretty ****ed even at 70 anyway officer

As of today, no reply to my last email.

I have also requested all footage from the cars and bodycams on my incident be saved for potential judicial review at the high court.
