***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

Yeah, that irritated me as well. Totally ruins the choice of 'how' to play the game in order to be able to pick nano's. Maybe there is a setting to increase the time item's are left?

Propably a console memory limitation that there can never be more than 4 or so corpses at one time and the oldest is replaced when killing another one?

Just had a crack at it, as it arrived this morning.

Disappointed.

Single player graphics is like ....like, playing on a console.

Multiplayer is like halo and cod mixed together.

Cryengine 3 engine made for consoles, not for X-Fire PCs, this I can tell you.

The original crysis graphics are a million miles better.

It looks nothing like playing on a console.

I haven't tried it due to my PC sharing Wi-Fi and Crysis 2 thinks there is no connection so I cannot log in when sharing a connection, yet my other games has no problems with it. I have to hook up the ethernet cable for Crysis 2 to connect.

The funny thing is it can update itself over Wi-Fi but not connect in game. This problem has been going on since the demo.

In what way? why is it not for CrossFire?...

While this is somewhat true I sometimes get bored of the jungle. Hence I'm glad I have both. I like the mix.

Now this has been ditched from Steam, will people who bought it on steam continue to get patches? I'll be well annoyed if the support for this game on steam stops.

agreed with some of the other comments -looks nothingl ike a console game on my PC

you must have a low-end PC :(

perhaps time to swap out that 6970? :)

played crysis 2 for the first and last time yesterday.

should have named it time crysis the graphics and controls are crap.

why didnt they just keep it the same and make new levels and missions?????

I think the answer to that is fairly obvious, because then it would have been yet another jungle game. They already done 3 games in the same setting, a fourth would have defiantely got them the label of "one trick pony".

Crysis 2 was a massive disappointment for me. I really enjoyed the original and I liked the fact that Crytek were pushing graphics forwards. However Crysis 2 is plainly a console port, every aspect of it is worse than the original.

lol you just quoted the bit were i said "new levels" does not say new levels in the jungle......

So you expected them to tack on new levels for an existing game on one platform (a platform where they constantly whined about piracy no less) instead of making a new game where they could charge full price across multiple platforms? ok......

OMG

were did it say anything like that.....?

why didnt they make it the same as crysis 1 and warhead but with new levels (not in a jungle but on the streets like they have done) with new missions (like they have done) but with the same engine

is that a bit easier for you to understand

The main reason crysis 2 has dumbed down graphics is becuase they wonted the multiplayer to be a hit.

So they took a look at cod and copied it, just adding the crysis elements.

i think thats putting COD down lol

the graphics are really poor.

ive loaded the game 4 times and every time i go into the options hoping there is another setting to make it look better lol.

honestly it reminds me of timecrisis that really old gun game for the dreamcast

I think you're the one having a hard time understanding. They wanted to branch the game out to multiple formats. They whined enough about piracy issues so the engine was redone to accomadate consoles. PC exclusivity is the last thing on their mind, any decisions taken in this game were done with consoles in mind being as they were the lowest common denominator.

With that in mind they couldn't have made it the same as crysis one without it looking significantly worse than the original game. It also gave them a chance to take the game to a new area like NY, jungles were getting stale.
