Well this is brilliant.
Wonder how long im going to be getting this

You would think they would prepare well for a thing like this,
I mean after all it was the most anticipated patch and updates todate.
They knew full well it would get crowded on the site,
But they insist on continuing to %^&* things up.

Pritty much has to :D

Could do, though its hard to make a cityscape look more visually appealing than a Jungle setting, which is the point most people missed when whinging about crysis 2.

Wasn't there an article showing crysis 2 having half the textures of crysis 1 or something like that?

But still

Crysis2: CryEngine 3, DX11

Crysis1: CryEngine 2, DX10

Edit: Any Crysis2 mods yet?

Well crysis 1 dx10 implementation was barely even dx10. Just about every dx10 effect was enabled in dx9 settings, besides 1 effect afaik.

Be interesting to see how crysis 2 measures up with the hi res pack. That being said its still much easier to make a Jungle scene visually appealing than the grey buildings of a city.

Its not just the dx11 patch there's also the high res texture pack and the 1.9 patch so there should be some improvement to say the least,
however even without the the above i still think cr2 looks way better than cr1

Imo

Crytek should have have done what Dice is doing with BF3; Have PC as the main platform and then port to consoles.

It will be very interesting to compare DX11 Crysis2 vs BF3 even though both are on different engines. :)

The problem is the PC will always be way ahead in terms of driving console technology, because it is just older tech in a box.

Devs know that sales of consoles will always be far more than pcs, and they just want to cash in, instead of developing for a far better experience on the pc.

Look @ Witcher 2, perfect example for a dedicated pc game from devs.
