***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

I recently bought this for £12 and have just played the single player campaign for around 3 hours and i am enjoying a lot. I think it is, visually, the best game i have ever seen (i installed the DX11 patch). I think for the price i paid that i got a good deal and thats without playing the multiplayer as i played the beta and did not really like it so that put me off paying full price on release.

I've just posted some screenshots in the High Res thread, it certainly looks better in motion. The FOV is alittle strange though.

Small video I did, recorded with Afterburner. Quality destroyed via Windows movie maker afterwards. (The raw video is over 780mb though :/)

Can't you leave it raw and convert with Handbrake?

Hi guys,

Only just started playing this and I'm getting a bit of an issue...

I'm outside now, right at the beginning and a periodically get a windows box pop up in the background (the game suddenly becomes windowed) advising me to turn aero off in order to improve performance - would this be down to me trying to get too much out of the game on what I've got? :D

I think my graphics settings are fairly high, am I being too ambitious? See sig.

Completed it yesterday, all in all it was better than I was expecting. Some of the textures were poorer than I anticipated, though conversely I generally thought some looked very good, the lighting was particularly nice. I prefered the delivery of the story this time round, and the a.i. seemed convincing too. Overall a good, not great, but nevertheless solid 7 / 10 title.

Ok, now that I have added a 6870 to my system I am now running with a mix of ultra and extreme settings.

I also have the DX11 and high res texture pack...but its still not enough. I feel it could impress more, so what are some mods that will make the graphics shine?

Because as it stands crysis 1 looks better to me, so anyone know what mods I need. Thanks :)

I dunno, ran blackfire mod but the game still lacked a "wow factor", I was expecting to be blown away but it still looks like a console port to me.

Ah well :(

That's because with a 6870 you're not going to be running it maxed out and have it still being playable :p

I dunno, most of my settings are set to "extreme", going up to ultra won't be much different surely.

I'll try it on ultra and come back to you

like crysis 1 having everything on max and running at like 60 fps opens up the game so much more as everything is so fluid . 30 fps is not bad but like said 60 fps for full game experience

check some of the mods out and get the config tweaker to adjust fov and alsorts

takes a bit of tweaking but looks better than bf3 when you get it right

Just been looking at some videos of that. Thats horrid how the hud bounces about while the character runs. Thats going to create a queasy feeling.

It does a bit, but you can turn that off in the config for the mod.
