***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

Happens on DX9 as well, i admit it's a shoddy game, but i try to even get the rubbish games i've purchased to work at least, but Crysis 2 seems to be giving me the big FU.

Well you give it and crytek the big FU and uninstall it, it looks like AMD owners have really been shafted with the poor DX11 update with crap Xfire performance and poor looking tessellation that is implemented in a dodgy way that lowers performance a fair bit on Nvida cards but more so on AMD cards. The game and its hype died a few months back, says it all really.

Gosh. Lotta hatred going on round here.

Personally I'm really enjoying playing this now. Fair play to the developers , they've taken their time on this patch and it shows.

Thought I'd wasted money when I bought it on release and couldn't get on with the "console port" graphics.. But Now? Hell yeah. Running it at 1920 x 1440 and it's a completely different experience. Never drops below 50 fps and it looks blooming larverley. Nice.

Tried it at 2560 x 1440 but it looked a bit "odd" and it struggled to maintain 30fps, but 1920 x 1440 is looking and playing really really nice.

So not such a waste of money after all and so glad I waited b4 getting into it.

Thats just to give the nod to nvidia cards for performance since they supposodly footed the bill for dx11 support.

Crytek suck **** on the PC platform now, they should just develop for the casual derp console kids becuase they really shafted the PC crowd with the **** that is crysis 2.

Oh lookie who it is :)

Well, some of you know i kept getting FPS drops in the STEAM version of Crysis 2, it turns out my STEAM version was a borked copy, [yes, i tried everything to sort it out, so don't bother with trying to justify it wasn't a borked copy, because it is] due to the fact i ordered the disc version from OcUK and it works flawlessly - DX11, Hi-Res Textures, everything on Ultra except Objects and Shaders are on Extreme.

Just giving other people a heads up if they experienced the same thing as me on the STEAM version of Crysis 2.

I've had this with a Steam game before, something must have happened when DLing. Re-install did no good but DL-ing again sorted it.

Seems theres some cheesiness going on in Crysis 2 with tessellation:

Nvidia must be getting really desperate to push Crytek to do that.

Just completed this today,im amazed how the game looks with DX11 and the High textures patch.

Best looking game ever imo with the DX11 and adds on installed, game play is very good i think, dont get all the hating with this game, all the people in this thread saying that DX11 only looks slightly better than DX9 need to get there eyes tested btw.

Superb game./

love the crysis community
just noticed already posted,fuuuuuuuuuuu
need to level up my internetzzz

CryENGINE 3 is beautiful

Is it the way crytek programmed their engine which results in astonishing graphics?

It's a shame Dice won't do the same thing with Frostbite 2 and release it to the gaming community for mods and projects  (may be fear of having the modders actually putting dice engineers to shame :p)

Still I think nothing beats Cryengine when it comes to full graphical capabilities.:)

With that Blackfire mod, obviously the textures are improved, but I get the sense he missed the point of the colour palette used by Crytek. It looks way too colourful and bright if you ask me.

I've just posted some screenshots in the High Res thread, it certainly looks better in motion. The FOV is alittle strange though.

Small video I did, recorded with Afterburner. Quality destroyed via Windows movie maker afterwards. (The raw video is over 780mb though :/)
