ok, well i think i'm gonna have to admit defeat with the whole 4.4, can't even boot into windows @ 4.3

so still at 4.2 but with a bit of a fiddle with my gpu....got me a few more points, but still can't break the 2000 point barrier..... :mad:

Well here is a Q9650 run with everything at stock speeds.
Quite a way behind the newer chips.

That chip should clock to atleast 4Ghz with a decent cooler mate.

Yeah, I have had 4.2 out of it, it hasn't been used in a while so I will give it a blast over the next couple of days and see what it can do.

you should get a good clock with that 790i ultra.. more headroom over my 790i NSE..

Dude, only 30 points off! That's killer! But your chip seems to be like mine, 4.2 fine but 4.3 is a no show.

N00bbuilder79, would be very interested in seeing how far the 9650 goes clocked to the max

tell me about it, tho truth be told i'm very very new to this oc'ing lark so hoping that it maybe is something i aint doing right

still just getting to grips with vcore, everything else (qpi/vtt, vram etc) i leave at auto. once my knowledge grows so to (i hope) will my overclock.....or then again maybe i'm just trying to convince myself!! lol

either way i'm have great fun in this thread. but i swear to god i gotta break the 2k points mark. i feel a new gpu coming along, thats gotta be my only hope!!!

Here is a run at 3.51Ghz, modest overclock, still plenty more to come yet though.
1430 for this run, 1303 @ stock.

Had mine at 102.5 * 53 last night but couldn't get her stable. Had no problem running 52*102 at 1.45vcore but even after raising it to 1.55vcore at 53 I had no joy. Even had my ram at 11/11/27 @ 1300Mhz but this board will not do > 103 PCI.

This was all with hyper threading disabled and using only 1 core. Temps were about 48C on load.

Well here is 3.6Ghz, I think i'm just gonna go for 4Ghz with the next run, score improving nicely 1465 (1303@stock) but still nothing on the new chips.

Sounds like you might be hitting the Mhz wall of your Cpu somewhere between 5300 & 5400Mhz.
It might not be that your Cpu/Board arn't capable of doing 103 BCLK but your Cpu wont hit that speed.
Try 103 or 104 BCLK with a lower multi ... say 50x or 51x and see if it runs.

Hitting a bit of a problem at the mo, at 4050Mhz the GIMP test is fine but the test aborts during the video encoding test, computer doesn't blue screen, the OC seems stable, the benchmark just ends, any ideas?

The video encoding test stresses the Cpu more than the other tests so you probably need more vcore to get it to complete.

finally got her to post @ 4.3 and FINALLY broke the 2k point mark.....whoooooop whoooooop, but this is probably me definitely maxed out now.....
