This time last week it all sounded very negative or even yesterday, but after the people that played it have spoken they've lift my worries a bit, all will be revealed this time next week. But so far it's sounding like ubi may have listened to a certain extent. Will it look as good as E3, no, but no-one thought it would did they. However every-one is saying is it looks way better than the footage we've seen and theres many options graphically. Really looking forward to it so far, and the ubi moaners are slowly starting to quiten down as more news is released.

It's like banging your head against a brick wall in here....

NO ONE is denying that the game is going to look good and be better looking than the consoles, I think it is going to be great looking, maybe even as good as star wars battlefront, whether it will run as good is another question.....

What people are getting worked up about and wanting to know.... WILL IT LOOK THE SAME AS THE E3 2013 FOOTAGE? Nothing more, nothing less.

All we need is a simple yes or no but instead we are getting, as neoglow said, politician answers.

The only one who has answered this question so far is jackfrags and his answer was a no.... yet some in here are making it out like the PC version will be the exact same as what we saw in 2013....

But it'll look better than the console version.

8 FACTS ABOUT THE PC VERSION OF THE DIVISIONNEWS by Giancarlo Varanini | Content Communications Manager.

With the arrival of the PC specs for The Division, you probably have some more questions about the PC version of the game and what it does to take advantage of the platform. That’s why we sat down with Massive Entertainment Technical Director Anders Holmquist and Stuart White, senior producer from Red Storm Entertainment, to get some facts about The Division on PC.

The Division

It’s more than a port
“The main goal during the development of the PC version of The Division was to give players the version of the game they wanted. We didn’t want to just port the console version for them, but to instead craft an experience that felt native to PC from the start. A key feature we particularly wanted to address was the navigation through the UI. If you have a mouse and a keyboard, the way you navigate is very different than the navigation with a controller.”

Invite your Steam friends
“Since the game is social at its core, we worked closely with the Uplay team to ensure that players will be able to play with their friends and also find new ones easily. Uplay now lets you invite your Steam friends into your Uplay Friends list and find people you recently played with. Your Uplay Friends list will also allow you to see when your friends are online and send them an invite or join their session seamlessly.”

Multiplayer is PC versus PC only
“As with most multiplatform online multiplayer games, servers for The Division are platform-specific.”

Play the way you want
“You can expect full support for mouse and keyboard as well as controller. If you have a system with both options set up, we also support that. If you want to switch from mouse and keyboard to controller in the middle of the game, you can do it!”

Not a game for mods
“No. Since The Division is an online, open-world action-RPG, its genre makes modding support technically challenging. However, we are focused on providing the best experience for all PC players.”

Customize Your UI
“Players have the ability to move, scale and adjust the opacity of a good portion of the HUD to suit their preferences. Beyond HUD, players will have the ability to tweak a wide variety of graphics options.”

There’s a PC beta, too
“To get your access to the beta, we invite you to join the wait list. Alternatively, you can pre-order The Division for a guaranteed access. The PC beta will take place from January 29 to January 31. The lucky testers will receive further instructions by email shortly before the start of the beta.”

The PC version of The Division supports a lot of hardware
“We wanted to ensure the game ran well, no matter if you were on a laptop or a triple-screened monster computer, and we think we’ve done just that. The key to making a PC game that runs and scales well is to have finely tuned graphics settings, and also to let players dive into the settings and adjust them the way they want. When developing the game, we also worked with different PC hardware manufacturers to bring special features to the game. For example, we have a partnership with Tobii to ensure the game works well with their eye-tracking technology for a more immersive experience.”

We know it wont. And nobody is making it out to be the case.

You are just one of those people who seem to feel it's their job to spread outrage as if it's their responsibility. Which, personally, I feel are the most annoying, toxic and useless contributors when it comes to games discussion. Cuz they inevitability have little to no idea about game development and are really only out to create shock value or reinforce existing tropes for the sake of internet points. Basically, just people being boring and unoriginal and dont actually have anything interesting of value to bring to the discussion.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! That's not inviting your steam friends at all. That's adding your friends to uPlay .... that's almost good spin :P If nothing else, Ubi's marketing department need a raise.
a) there is no uPlay team - it's a mentally disabled hamster running across a keyboard, hence uPlay sucks.
b) the point itself is a lie as stated above.
c) it's selling a friend list and it's features -- that's Apple level of marketing there, sell you something you've had for years as though it's new :P

I'm almost impressed ;D

No I just don't like being taken for a mug like you lot :)

You want to be lied to and bend over for ubi etc. then be my guest.

If companies can't guarantee that the final release will look like what they "initially" promised/advertised, then don't show any footage at all, as simple as that.

DX12 confirmed yup? Just re-upgraded to Win10 for this very reason :p I know the new Unreal Tournament is due a DX12 update shortly (Alpha) among a couple other games I'm looking forward to.

I'm not sure it has been confirmed. And even if it is, the engine was not designed from the ground up with DX12 in mind, so I can't imagine a patched in version blowing us away. Does anyone think they'll go to all the trouble of bringing back removed features that were in E3 gameplay demos like global illumination and dynamic material shaders? If they give PC gamers the gimped version without these effects on release, as expected, then there won't be much benefit to run it in DX12 mode. Can you imagine: "Take some of the CPU load off a gimped dx11 game, which probably runs just as well in dx10.... next gen FTW."

If they do develop a DX12 patch with all these effects included for PC only, suddenly they have to explain why the console versions will not get them, or if they were to include them on consoles too, they'd have to lock the framerate at 15FPS and claim "ultra cinematic experience." I think they'd rather keep quiet on the matter to avoid highlighting how much better the PC version could look and run.
