Shocker!!!
Yup shocker indeed, that the game looks nothing like those 4k screenshots like the few who were trying to make out that it would look as good as them/e 2013 footage One word to sum it up... stunning

Yeah it really looks like those 4k screenshots doesn't it.....
It looks very meh to me tbh, definitely needs a sweetfx config. Certainly not a patch on the e3 2013 version. At least the gameplay and shooting itself looks very good!
It will be interesting to see if modders can re-enable the removed features....

It's not like you was ever going to say anything different. I personally was very impressed and the lighting, reflections really do look good to me and it will look better on my 1440P screen over this 1080P low quality vid.
They do look good and the second one looks immense.
Looks alright doesn't it, now you know why I've been saying wait and see the PC version...
I thought they said there will be no modding in WD otherwise there will be bans. Also agree looks nothing like the E3 footage which was a hundred times better. However I do not know what graphical settings were used and what GPU the guy had so I am reserving judgement.
Apparently this is at all settings max but smaa off, sharpening filter 95% and the supersample smaa on
Yes it does actually, the lighting, effects and level of detail all look on a par as the 4k screenshots. But then that wasn't a great surprise to me as I'd played the PC version
Might have to take a few minutes to find a location and time of day/lighting scenario to replicate one of the screenshots when the beta drops. Only 1600p but shouldn't be far off 4k quality.
The gunplay and gameplay look much better than the console versions IMO. The TTK especially looks much lower which is more like what I wanted to see. Looking forward to next weekend now.
I wouldn't bother putting much thought into the Photoshop remark in the image properties. Almost everything is exported to a compressed image format these days through Photoshop. Simply exporting to jpeg from PNG or resizing a shot gives the same remark in the Program Name field.
This is completely normal.
Will you also put them through photoshop too?
I just asked the uploader his rig spec, I should have asked that earlier I guess.
EDIT: Aha, they replied. Their GPU is a Zotac amp extreme 980ti watercooled and the game is running at 1920x1080 res.
As for the video, well it looks ok, considering he apparently has supersampling enabled it seems to be running pretty smooth, I remember WD used to tank if you enabled SS in the ini file. I did see the real time character shadows near the end going down the outside steps and reflections in the puddles but the puddles wernt amazing, again this could be due to the time of day the gameplay is in (dusk into night time) The whole screen colouring is totally different to the old E3 stuff, hopefully SweetFX may be able to fix this. The distance fog seems to be used in all the videos Ive seen, hopefully there will be an option/mod to disable the fog.
I appreciate they uploaded a video which is good but me personally I would have shown the game world better and the various effects without sprinting around everywhere. You know walk and pan the camera around to get a better sense of the environment. I would have shown the action too but its hard to really take in the visuals with mouse twitch gameplay. Downloading the video and slowing the playback speed helps to see the visuals better.
No it does not look anything like the old E3 footage but then my gut feeling said it wouldnt as this happens time and time again, especially with Ubisoft. It looks ok and I guess some areas will look better than others but to me it just looks like the console footage we have already seen just clearer and sharper round the edges. Environment detail looks the same and the god awful clutter-HUD.
I dont know the background of the Snowdrop engine but it does seem to have similarities to the Watch Dogs Disrupt engine as the whole game looks like a reskinned WD. Yes there are entirely new features but underneath (eg the shooting mechanics) look very WD-like.
Am I blown away, no. Will I try the Beta, yes. Do I hope the modding community pour time and effort into making it look like the old E3 stuff, yes definitely.
I mean... just at a glance look how insanely flat and cartoony the real version looks compared to the BS 4k screenshot
