The Division. Are we interested?

Yup shocker indeed, that the game looks nothing like those 4k screenshots like the few who were trying to make out that it would look as good as them/e 2013 footage :o One word to sum it up... stunning

It's not like you was ever going to say anything different. I personally was very impressed and the lighting, reflections really do look good to me and it will look better on my 1440P screen over this 1080P low quality vid.

Yeah it really looks like those 4k screenshots doesn't it.....

It looks very meh to me tbh, definitely needs a sweetfx config. Certainly not a patch on the e3 2013 version. At least the gameplay and shooting itself looks very good!

It will be interesting to see if modders can re-enable the removed features....

I thought they said there will be no modding in WD otherwise there will be bans. Also agree looks nothing like the E3 footage which was a hundred times better. However I do not know what graphical settings were used and what GPU the guy had so I am reserving judgement.

Yes it does actually, the lighting, effects and level of detail all look on a par as the 4k screenshots. But then that wasn't a great surprise to me as I'd played the PC version

Might have to take a few minutes to find a location and time of day/lighting scenario to replicate one of the screenshots when the beta drops. Only 1600p but shouldn't be far off 4k quality.

The gunplay and gameplay look much better than the console versions IMO. The TTK especially looks much lower which is more like what I wanted to see. Looking forward to next weekend now.

I'm not saying it will look as good (was it ever?) Ubisoft are a pretty terrible company but at least wait and try it yourself. Less with the toys out the pram posting would be helpful, its boring and you come across as a total tool.

Gameplay and depth will be important, I can handle to tonnes down graphics but if its fun for co op and works out the box, then it's worth a go.

If the game had actually looked like what some in here were/are making it out to be, I would have said great looking etc. but the fact it looks absolutely nothing like the 4k screenshots/e3 2013 footage and IMO, not that good (essentially just a higher res. version of the console with more objects, sharper textures) is what gets to me, like said earlier, all we got was politician answers and the replies like the above from mid_gen (ubisoft employee) HINTING that it would look very good and close to the 4k/e3 2013 footage.

If you think that looks great and close to the e3 2013/4k material, then good for you, to me it doesn't. Yes the video is low quality, 1080P, compression etc. etc. but that does not remove the effects etc.

They do look good and the second one looks immense.

Looks alright doesn't it, now you know why I've been saying wait and see the PC version...

Just one of the many comments.

I don't know about you, but to me that is misleading.

I'm sure that there will be ways to play it with mods and not having to worry about being banned, you just won' be able to play online with the mods.

Supposedly:

Apparently this is at all settings max but smaa off, sharpening filter 95% and the supersample smaa on

Will you also put them through photoshop too?

Yup, the gameplay and shooting itself looks damn good, I was put of from seeing all the console footage but with this new footage, I am now looking forward to it.

I wouldn't bother putting much thought into the Photoshop remark in the image properties. Almost everything is exported to a compressed image format these days through Photoshop. Simply exporting to jpeg from PNG or resizing a shot gives the same remark in the Program Name field.

This is completely normal.

Yup, they could have just used it to crop the screenshot for all we know but going by the style, colours of the 4k screenshot and comparing it to the video, it looks like more was done than just that imo. It is just like sweetfx, a slight change in exposure, sharpness, contrast etc. can make a massive difference to how a game looks.

Also, people on guru3d divison thread who have also played the game have said that the game looks nothing like those 4k screenshots.

I just asked the uploader his rig spec, I should have asked that earlier I guess.

EDIT: Aha, they replied. Their GPU is a Zotac amp extreme 980ti watercooled and the game is running at 1920x1080 res.

As for the video, well it looks ok, considering he apparently has supersampling enabled it seems to be running pretty smooth, I remember WD used to tank if you enabled SS in the ini file. I did see the real time character shadows near the end going down the outside steps and reflections in the puddles but the puddles wernt amazing, again this could be due to the time of day the gameplay is in (dusk into night time) The whole screen colouring is totally different to the old E3 stuff, hopefully SweetFX may be able to fix this. The distance fog seems to be used in all the videos Ive seen, hopefully there will be an option/mod to disable the fog.

I appreciate they uploaded a video which is good but me personally I would have shown the game world better and the various effects without sprinting around everywhere. You know walk and pan the camera around to get a better sense of the environment. I would have shown the action too but its hard to really take in the visuals with mouse twitch gameplay. Downloading the video and slowing the playback speed helps to see the visuals better.

No it does not look anything like the old E3 footage but then my gut feeling said it wouldnt as this happens time and time again, especially with Ubisoft. It looks ok and I guess some areas will look better than others but to me it just looks like the console footage we have already seen just clearer and sharper round the edges. Environment detail looks the same and the god awful clutter-HUD.

I dont know the background of the Snowdrop engine but it does seem to have similarities to the Watch Dogs Disrupt engine as the whole game looks like a reskinned WD. Yes there are entirely new features but underneath (eg the shooting mechanics) look very WD-like.

Am I blown away, no. Will I try the Beta, yes. Do I hope the modding community pour time and effort into making it look like the old E3 stuff, yes definitely.

Sorry to put a damper on the detective work you're so proud of...but yes, before uploading an uncompressed framebuffer dump for web distribution I would run it through photoshop to export to JPG.

Can you just give it a rest now? I think everyone's well aware now how desperate you are to prove the game doesn't look like a 2+ year old trailer, how's about leaving the thread for the people that want to talk about the game?

Ah so you wouldn't adjust the contrast, exposure, highlights etc. then? i.e. like EVERY company does when "advertising" a product....

I don't care if they are press/art/game engine or whatever shots but don't try to make out like they are untouched in-game screenshots.

I have an interest in the game as I think it looks good (the gameplay that is), this is a public forum on the "internet" i.e. made for different opinions, if you don't like it or can't handle the company you work for getting negative comments, you know where the exit button is.

PS. When I upload screenshots showing of beautiful "in game" graphics, I take the screenshot and upload to whatever image hosting site and then post the IMG link on said forum, I don't have to faff about with photoshop etc. to just upload a basic screenshot.

There we go then, nothing like the e3/4K BS screenshots, no shock there then and exactly as expected by a few of us.

Still looks good though, I know I'm going to enjoy it for the simple reason I'm mad about rpgs. Gunplay looks nice, movement looks good and graphically looks pretty good....nowhere near e3 good just good. On 1440p cranked right up with some sweetfx config and it's going to look better.

This... it really does just look like a cleaned up, sharper, higher res version of the console. I'm highly irritated and disappointed, yet not one bit surprised. Definitely pulled a WD again without a doubt :(

Why do all ubisoft games lately look like they have no depth (graphically).. like everything pops like it's surrounded by light even when it's not. Not sure how to explain it. Maybe it's the colors and contrast. The e3 2013 footage looks so deep and dark now it's just a flat looking environment where everything is shaded the same. I guess... whatever I'm still going to play the beta I payed 75 cents for lol.

^^^^^^^^
I mean... just at a glance look how insanely flat and cartoony the real version looks compared to the BS 4k screenshot :(

But according to Youtubers and some on here, it almost looks just as good as E3 and just like that 4K BS shot on PC.
