I'm not liking all the hand-holding that appears to be in this game. Big orange lines floating in the air that tell you where to go and what to do, big flashing backpacks and trunks with big orange "OPEN" letters over them
 
just annoys me these youtube celebs....and I use that word very loosely, are all like Zomg it's almost as good as the E3 videos. I'd rather they just said yes it's slightly better than console as you would expect, but nowhere near the level of E3. Just tell the blinking truth that's all I want.
 
The tech demo of the snowdrop engine on YouTube looks stunning, showcasing effects in an environment of very similar design to The Division (snowy and post apocalyptic) Only problem is the game looks nothing like the tech demo.

Sorry to take away from the loving back and forth but has the beta started now? I got an email the other day with a code for it and when entered it said I would get an email before the launch?
 
Looks very nice, but will it actually be any fun to play?

It just seems like a city-based squad shooter but with some potential for some DayZ-like griefing/trolling/cheating. Maybe I've read it wrong but the trailers and gameplay I've seen all look very derivative.
 
I would love for the game to surprise the hell out of us and at leaaaaaaast have the elements of the engine in the game that were originally showed off for division, even if it doesn't look as good, but no they literally pulled a WD again and just straight took stuff out completely. :(
 
That does actually look alright. It's not E3 levels of alright, but it's alright. I want to see it non compressed though as it looks washed out in the dm video player. And in 21:9.


Doesn't really look next gen though does it? More like console graphics just with higher res. The lighting looks particularly flat. And still, the same tiny console FOV...
 
So having perused the leaked PC beta footage, as expected, it's another typical Ubisoft release. It looks just like the console footage but a bit sharper which is no shocker.

At the end of the day the game might turn out good fun but not even our resident Ubisoft PR member can run damage control on another totally misleading advertising campaign.
 
Jesus Christ, all this moaning. Okay so they've quite obviously lied, but the lengths some of the people are going to are just daft, it's a game, it's just OTT, I get that it's irritating, I feel the same, but going all keyboard warrior isn't going to change that is it? We're all in tis thread because we're interested in the game, so just wait for the beta so you can customise it yourself with no compression etc and then see what it looks and plays like.

Problem is, if they lied about that, or have lots of "business reasons" to downgrade the graphics, then they've probably done the same with the gameplay. Promised and demoed loads of great gameplay features, that they've then downgraded to hit their release date. Same as Watchdogs.

I get that but why not wait until you're able to play it yourself, I mean I saw Angry Joe's video when he played it and I thought it was pretty good to be honest, I was more interested in how the game played than looking at how realistic puddles and leaves looked.
